I truly believe in global warming. It was 17 below here in Western Montana last week and now it's a scorching 19 degrees here now. Algore was right! (/sarcasm)

Joe Bastardi is the lone voice of sanity amongst a bunch of gloom and doomers, including the pro-global warming Weather Channel. IMHO, this guy is the best Meteorologist on TV, bar none. No cutsie smiley face weather maps with Joe, just the facts, ma'am....

Joe Bastardi, senior meteorologist with Accuweather.com

What an unfortunate name.

I trust Michael Crichton on the state of science as much as I trust Barbra Streisand on the Constitution.

Hey for everyone who is experiencing unprecedented cold, I'm going out to my garage and cranking up my SUV. As Al Gore and all his pea-brain followers will tell you, that should raise raise the global temps by several degrees. You'll be toasty in minutes!

Yes, no middle, or at least for not long. Went from 6 months of near 90ish all summer and unbearable heat to this suddenly. Seems no 50-70 range around here lately??

It's still fall and snow from 2 weeks ago hasn't melted here in eastern PA. Global warming is supposed to bring the temps above freezing though in a day or two. I blame GW Bush!

Which is why he includes detaile footnotes and a complete bibliography in his book. Unlike Babas, he makes no gratuitous assertions. Everything he covers he backs up with a reference. I've yet to see any "scientist" do that on Larry King or Oprah. Funny how they choose their venues.

But I prefer attack the merits of the argument, not the presenter. In this case, he does a good job of explaining a) the scientific debate (yes, there is still a debate about this) and b) the political interactions that are driving the Global "Warming" debate.

PS. Not sure why you wouldn't trust a Harvard MD on science. Have you seen what passes for a professor on a college campus these days?

Six degrees here this AM in northern NJ. Obviously more proof of global warming (you see, if it's warmer that's proof of global warming and if it's colder that is also proof of global warming. Got it?)

I've noticed that the global warming advocates have very bad timing with current weather. The near-term forecast is beyond their abilities and yet they want us to believe they can forecast for the long-term.

I think most people, when they see the graphic for the "seven day forecast", realize by now that the last three or four days of it are fantasy....never really happens that way. It'll either rain unexpectedly by then or not rain when it was supposed to....temps also wander from what was predicted.

It's like a nightly lesson that only the first two or three days on the "7-day forecast" are going to turn out as predicted. Along come the 'global warming' clowns, like snake-oil salesman, making wild predictions for hundreds of years ahead.....a person would have to be some special form of stupid (or have an agenda) to believe a word of it.

December 1990 was damn cold. I thought it was the coldest on record for Western Massachusetts. I spent the whole month working outside, 10 hour shifts. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

You don't understand, the reason its so cold is because of global warming. The warmer the earth becomes, the colder it gets (sarcacsm).

Feels like January here in Ohio. Snow, cold, more snow, more cold ... freezing rain and more snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Then more cold.

Global warming ping.
