Maybe the StaPuff marshmallow man dissolved into the sewer system.

I'll bet there's one of those notorious syrup labs operating in the area.

What if New Yorkers are being poisoned with something which wont become obvious for weeks or months?
To: LurkedLongEnough
I hope they tested for tabun. It's a nerve agent that has a fruity odor when vaporized. Some say it smells like bitter almonds. It's lethal within about 15 minutes in both the vapor or liquid form, either inhaled or touched.

Bioterrorism?
That's what I thought. The first time this happened about a month ago, I was leaving a job in Jersey right on the Hudson and could smell it--it was more of a burnt almond hazelnut kind of smell. I thought it could have been bioterrorism, as it was a different kind of smell then you get from a flavor/fragrance operation.
But then again, I'm extremly paranoid and I'm sure you knew that already since you're probably the one that tapped my phones...

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
· Colorless to brown liquid, faintly fruity odor. Odorless in pure form.
· The industrial product has a brownish color and odor reminiscent of bitter almonds due to the formation of hydrogen cyanide.

I remember reading about an "industrial" accident in some eastern US city where a huge vat of molasses broke and spewed the sticky stuff all down the street. Apparently was big enough that the wave of molasses drowned some people.
I'm thinking I heard that it smelled of molasses for quite a long time afterward there.
It might have been in Boston, but if it was NY, I'd bet that some construction has unearthed some of the stuff somewhere.

An Al Qaeda pancake attack, obviously.
Al Qaeda Qatie Quroc is the local coordinator.
Check with her. If there's white powder on her
face, it's flour. If there's white powder on
Matt Lauer's face, it may be cocaine.
