The group issued a video two days earlier showing the hostage, identified as Ronald Schulz, 40, an industrial electrician from Alaska.

He was just over there trying to make a buck and really help some people.

But according to McCain if we treat detainees fairly they will do the same to us.

Can some talking head tell McCain after he restricts us the terrorists will still cut off our hostages heads.

Why can't that McPainiac see the difference between a uniform army and terrorists that have no rights.

Damn McCain for doing great damage to this country. But his european friends who have no loyalty to the u.s will be very pleased.

They are winning over the MSM and McCain. McCain and the liberal elite media are more concerned about detainee rights.

Remember Durbin comparing our soldiers to zazis. The liberal elite media wants these terrorists put on trial. They want them moved to Cuba to your hometown in the U.S.

It is infuriating that the CIA is going to have to change their detainee policies because of John McCain. The new line from the MSM is that McCain is a conservative. They want to play that up to get him nominated. McCain has backstabbed us more than anyone.

They do trace these websites but they constantly change. There's some guy named Jeremy that FR's Cindy alludes to often in the terror matrix threads who has been an active pursuer of these Islamist websites. But as fast as the sites get shut down they're up again somewhere else.

They use a lot of servers even within the US since there are so many to choose from.

Even the Democratic Party would like to kill Chalabi since he has the goods on the UN's oil-for-food bribe-taking. The insurgents would like to nail him since his intel has led to a number of them getting caught.

It's my understanding, could be wrong though, that there are system cookies that don't attach to the files on the hard drive but are actually on the BIOS and that no matter where they go or IP addresses used (changed) the specific computer can be located within a minute by pinging it. Kind of like the little I-Net phone adapters that no matter the number the companies still can find out where it's located.

No, looks like the group that took the Japanese activists hostage is different- the "Mujahadeen Squadrons"

A statement from a group calling itself the Mujahedeen Squadrons said it wants Japan to pull its troops from Iraq or it will burn the three hostages alive.
The names of the three -- seen on passports in news footage -- are Koriyama Soichiro, who has a press card issued in Jordan for Weekly Asahi; Imai Noriaki; and Takato Nahoko, a woman. -----CNN

Something I heard a while back and just now remembered;
I was speaking to a friend that got back from Afghanistan and he told me that a lot of senior military people believe that there are some reporters at Al-Jazeera that they suspect not only knew where the terrorist were but were actively involved in the murders for the news stories and that is how they get the tapes and Internet messages so easily without being detected.

I'm no expert either but I think in these cases the "specific computer" is often just the server of a legitimate company that is unwittingly hosting that web site amid thousands of other legit sites. The terrorist web sites are uploaded onto the servers from the terrorist's computer- or more likely some public library or coffeeshop computer overseas and after that the original computer is no longer involved. Any tracing goes only to the legit server whose owner can then be notified to shut it down.

These animals are disgusting.

With that said, has anyone noticed that they hadn't murdered a hostage in a while. When they stopped slitting throats, it was a change in tactics. Now they return to that tactic. Why? Upcoming election? Perceived US domestic pressure for a troop withdrawal, attempting to hurry the process? Got their knives back from the sharpener?

I'm guessing #2. Thank you traitor Murtha for another murdered American (with special mention for the US media). Additionally, thank you Benedict Kerry for you second betrayal of America. These people should be tried for treason, and then shot.

Some people working for al Jazeerah definitely have some problems.

Al-Jazeera boss to quit after Iraqi spies claim
The Daily Telegraph ^ | May 28, 2003 | Anton La Guardia

Al-Jazeera boss to quit after Iraqi spies claim By Anton La Guardia, Diplomatic Editor (Filed: 28/05/2003)

The head of al-Jazeera, the Arab satellite television station, will step down after criticism of its reporting from Iraq and Afghanistan and claims that it was infiltrated by Saddam Hussein's agents.

A spokesman for the network said the departure of Mohammed Jassem al-Ali, its director-general, was not because of political pressure and he would remain on the governing board.

Mohammed Jassem al-Ali He was "seconded from Qatar Television to set up and run al-Jazeera and what has been decided is that this be ceased," said Jihad Ballout. "These rumours and allegations about al-Jazeera are not taken at face value."

The Sunday Times, citing documents it said were seized in Baghdad by the Iraqi National Congress, reported this month that Iraqi intelligence officials claimed to have infiltrated the network. It said there was no evidence that Iraq had recruited al-Ali, but the documents purported to give details of contacts with Iraqi agents in which he made clear that coverage would favour Baghdad.

Al-Jazeera, launched in 1996, is the trailblazer for a new generation of Arab satellite TV channels. It began as a beacon of political openness in a region of dominated by tightly controlled and dull state broadcasters.

But in recent years, as it upset one Arab regime after another, the network has been accused by America and Britain of becoming Osama bin Laden's favourite outlet and promoting anti-western nationalism.

It was heavily criticised for broadcasting exclusive material from Iraqi officials showing dead or captured coalition soldiers.

Pro-western Arabs who at first welcomed al-Jazeera's democratising influence are increasingly worried. "It began as an experiment in breaking the taboos, but it quickly ran out of control and began a competition with other channels over who could incite more against the usual suspects," said a Qatari source....
