You're going to need publications with special qualifications for this Christmas, I see. Let me suggest several issues of the NYTs.

LOL. No, they'll be barn cats and the dog will be a Newfie, for the yard. He or she, will be the outside dog, but never fear, he won't be neglected.

Mine were outdoor cats for a number of years, a very successful relationship. They did like to come in out of the cold in winter. But they disappeared, and there were rumors of coyotes. If you get your big dog as a pup, maybe he'll take to looking after the cats.

Yes, that's the idea. We have bears, coyotes and mountain lions, so I need a big 150 pounder, and actually, I need a couple more big dogs besides.. One cannot have enough critters, I always say!

One breed I admire is the Pyranees--a big fluffy white thing, a grooming nightmare. Looks like an enormous white Golden Retriever. They are very protective, but are not thugs of the dog world. I just hate those nasty, vicious guard dogs that sometimes neighbors allow to roam free. The Pyranees seems to get the job done without scaring people. There's one in a field I drive by, hanging with the goats and almost as big as the ponies.

They are exceptional dogs. We used to visit a resort in New Mexico where the GP was the official greeter. In fact, Newfies may be descended from them, but no one is sure. I might get one. a friend has promised me a Burnese Mountain dog, but we'll see, if he comes thru..

"Erase Christmas and Easter"? I'd call that your victim fantasy.

No, it's an honest statement of the fact that, on TV and in public, the word "Christmas" can't be seen or heard; it's been erased and supplanted by the word "Holidays."

If you say this isn't so, please give an example of a major brand retailer that has "Christmas" in its TV or radio ads, instead of "holidays." Otherwise, stop your attempt to deny the obvious, because nobody is buying your spin.

when the lay teacher said that the Jews didn't find an empty country when they went up into the Promised land"""

Are you saying that Joshua and his people DID find an empty country in the promised land? If you think that's true - - and that your instructor was wrong -- then you are an example of Catholic biblical illiteracy.

on TV and in public, the word "Christmas" can't be seen or heard

That's completely ridiculous. There are a lot of retailers who go for a lowest-common-denominator approach, sure, and group all their Christmas merchandise, Merry Christmas cards, and Santa displays under a "Happy Holidays" banner even as they play Christmas Carols on the in-store muzak and drape everything in red and green. The canard about Macy's clerks not being able to say "Merry Christmas" has been debunked here many times.

In the meantime, I recommend you check out the Christmas Tree Shops the next time you're in New England, they're a big chain with tremendous success.

But to compare the way that stores commercialize Christmas to the celebration of Christmas by families and the ability to express one's religious viewpoints is a totally unsupported leap, and a dangerous one. People are talking seriously about Jews driving Christianity out of this country and forcing people to give up their religion. All based on a company website that says "Happy Holidays." It's grossly unfair to accuse people of doing something that terrible and drastic. Do it if you want, indulge the fantasy, I can't stop you--I can only worry about the people you'll come to hate for nothing they've done or dreamed of doing.

You haven't given me an example of a major retailer whose ads use the word, "Christmas." And yet you say my contention that the word Christmas isn't used, is ridiculous. If it's ridiculous, you could give an example, but you can't.

You said it can't be used on television or the radio.

I did a google news search on television and "Christmas" and came up with shows airing this year:
"A Charlie Brown Christmas" (reaired)
Smallville "Christmas Carol"
HGTV "All Out Christmas" television

on the first page alone. Keep searching, you'll find plenty.

Frankly, I don't watch much television and I skip past the ads with TiVo, so if you're telling me some retailers are going with "happy holidays", I can't say I care enough to prove you wrong. My response, which you ignored, is that if you watch t.v. between now and 12/26 you will see lots of shows dedicated to Christmas music, Christmas decorations, adaptions of "A Christmas Carol", Christmas traditions, and Christmas cooking. If you want to see merchandising, I beg you, turn on the Home Shopping Channel and plant your ass in a seat.

You have been unable to prove me wrong and that "you can't hear Christmas on the television." Please, once I would like to go through a Christmas season WITHOUT hearing "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" or "Dominic, the Italian Christmas Donkey." I repeat, you've really not heard Christmas on the radio?

I'm sorry if department stores aren't saying the things you want to hear, but to turn that into "Jews are driving out the faith of Christ" is unsupported. Go complain to the stores if you want. I think it's out of line when people post to this thread about how, with merchandisers doing this, they understand why some people didn't care when the Jews were murdered during the Holocaust. I don't understand that attitude, it's contrary to everything I know about Christianity, including the very many devout Christians who defied the Nazis to save Jews during the war. Yet it happens. People are looking for excuses and you've found a particularly weak one.

I asked you to provide an example of a major retailer that uses the word Christmas -- instead of Holidays - in advertising. You haven't done so, because you can't. Twenty years ago - even 5 years ago - you would have seen and heard "Christmas" in ads. Today you don't. The word is being "informally" but very aggressively, censored. Please don't post to me anymore if you can't find examples of Christmas as a word, in major advertising. In other words, please don't post to me anymore. I've made my point, and it's a true and obvious point for anyone with eyes and ears open.

Dude.

Here's the first thing. We did not reply to you, so We do not really wish your two cents worth.

Second, there is no need for your anti-Catholic attitude and insulting manner.

Third, We have seen your posts, and you have no room to be attacking anyone. You have a bad, bad reputation on this site.

Fourth, what We have written, We have written. It is perfectly clear. If you obtusely choose to take it in another way you are trolling.

That is all.

"Jews are not responsible as this author implies."

There is always some injustice in judging individuals by membership in specified groups. Probably more accurate to say that the Left in America, which is not primarily Jewish, is responsible for giving Christmas (and many other things) an aura of not being politically correct. Nevertheless, regardless of the existence of the many conservative Jewish writers and individuals, it's not arguable that a large proportion of Jews are not usually prominent members of the Left and supporters of its causes, which would include this one.

If you're going to post blatant historical and biblical innaccuracies - - and then blast a teacher who told the truth -- - I can set you straight if I like. If you don't like having your ignorance responded to, then don't flaunt it on an open internet forum.

Oh Lord, I know I shouldn't do this, but...

The Lord told the Hebrews to go up into Israel, and conquer the peoples and take the land. They hesitated. They were afraid. What happened then? The Lord MADE THEM WANDER IN THE DESERT FOR THE NEXT FRIGGIN' FORTY YEARS.

So they find themselves again at the jumping off point. This time they had a leader named Joshua who was prepared to do what was necessary, and had proven it forty years prior. This time they went up and did as they had been told.

Why would the Lord have told them to go up into the land and take it and slaughter the inhabitants? Because they were idol worshippers. But that sounds rather innocent, what's the big deal? They engaged in sexual immorality in the sacred groves and high places. Well, so do plenty of people nowadays.

Here's the problem. The ancient peoples before the Judeo-Christians had few morals. Sex was about men penetrating anything with a hole. Worship was about sex, everything was about sex. Human sacrifice was practiced. Child sacrifice was practiced. All the sins of Sodom were rampant. That's why the Lord said to stamp it out lest it infect the people. They didn't and these people have been a thorn in their side ever since.

So I have no sympathy with either you or a lay teacher who don't believe the bible and who have sympathy for woman oppressing, child sacrificing palestinian and other arab moongod cultists who blow up innocents in the name of allah the demon on the thinnest of pretexts. Jews never did that. Arabs have taken sheer delight in doing it for their entire history.

The Arab. At your feet or at your throat.

B> I think I can state with 99% certainty that He was born on the first
day of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles (when God "tabernacled among us"),

J24>Could you get any more eisegetical, my friend?

I like Jude 21 through 25 and not take it out of context.

Jude 21 Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of
our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Jude 22 Be merciful to those who doubt;

Jude 23 snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show
mercy, mixed with fear — hating even the clothing stained by
corrupted flesh.

Jude 24 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present
you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy —

Jude 25 to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and
authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now
and for evermore! Amen.
