What part of Homeland Security doesn't the FAA understand?

Do you think they would change their tune if a terrorist walked across the border with a shoulder fired rocket launcher and brought down a commercial airliner?

Does President Bush have the authority as Commander in Chief, Chief Law Enforcement Officer and Chief Executive to issue an Executive Order to override this nonsense? I think so but I am not holding my breath. He wouldn't want to do anything to impede the flow of cheap labor.

Bush doesn't want the borders closed or policed. One need only look at his inaction and lunatic amnesty ideas.

5 years of his presidency have made that very clear to many of us ex-Republicans.

$59 million for four UAVs. "Ideally, with UAVs, the focus is to create a virtual curtain of air detection,"

Four of them? What a colossal waste of money. You could buy almost 20 brand new A-Star B-3s helicopters for the same costs, an aircraft that can actually get down in the weeds and work with the agents on the ground.

The agency spends $4,000 every time it launches a Blackhawk and must pay additional labor costs.

Then don’t fly an expensive heavy lift aircraft when what is needed is light and agile airframe which could be operated at $250.00 an hour.

Something stinks here. UAVs are designed to fly over hostile airspace where the risk to pilots is great. Last time I checked, we have not had any aircraft shot down on our southern border.

Perhaps DHS should consider using its funding to develop it’s own space shuttle program next.

To answer your question, "what has our Country come to?" - we have been taken over by eco-terrorists.

We can't do anything without some environmental impact study, for Pete's sake.
