The scholar who exposed fraud and exploitation in the work of sex researcher Alfred Kinsey is blowing the whistle on the E! cable channel's new "reality" show about Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and his three live-in girlfriends.
Judith Reisman, author of "Kinsey: Crime and Consequences" and a soon-to-be-released new title, "Kinsey's Attic: How One Man's Pathology Changed the World," says "Girls Next Door" is Hollywood's latest and boldest attempt to normalize pornography in our culture.
The author, who served as a consultant to the U.S. Justice Department on obscenity issues, is angry the network is investing so much time in glamorizing a man she refers to as "a 79-year-old pornographer." The show is advertised as a reality show filmed exclusively from the Playboy mansion in Los Angeles.
Reisman charges Hefner "actually drew the first 'sibling' incest cartoon for Playboy in 1954." She adds he personally selected the thousands of child sex abuse jokes and cartoons that were a Playboy staple."
In one "Girls Next Door" episode, the three girls are shown getting ready for a nude lay-out in the famous magazine, all under the watchful eye of the magazine's patriarch. Much of the reality show centers around the famous Playboy Mansion and the "everyday lives" of these girls.
"The fact (that the network) states on its website it is owned 49.9 percent by Disney says it all," Reisman told WND. "Disney now pimps the antique, surgically enhanced Hugh Hefner playboy. Hefner's 'innocent' pornography will seduce dad. Seduce dad and you will get his kids. Seduce kids and you control; you own an entire impotent male population of users and female wannabees forever."
Reisman sees the E! TV program, which airs Sunday nights, as another step in mainstreaming Playboy's endorsement of multi-partner sexual relationships. Hefner's live-in girls illustrate that, she says.
"Many male consumers are easily trained to believe they are being cheated if they have a love life with one woman," says Reisman. "Sex merchants intend to displace woman-wife and love. Sex merchants intend to become the consumer's substitute lover!"
Reisman is not alone in her concern about "Girls Next Door." Syndicated radio talk-show host, Paul McGuire, heard in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver and St. Louis, agrees with Reisman.
"You can package Hugh Hefner and the 'Girls Next Door' any way you want, but ultimately the show is about normalizing pornography," he says. "Hefner is a pornographer and has made his fortune exploiting women. I know women who were playmates in Hefner's Playboy-porno empire. Their lives were ruined at a young age and they continue to suffer many years later. Many of them are terrified of going public and telling what really happened to them.
This is the dark side of the Hefner and his porno empire that E! TV and Playboy don't want you to see."
And it is ruining society as a whole.
Moral absolutes ping.
""Sex merchants intend to displace woman-wife and love. "
Actually that woman-wife love is a fantasy staple as long as the husband can watch....
Seriously, the author sounds like he is just looking for something to get upset about. Playboy has been around for a long time - it's tame compared to other porn and it's natural that when Playboy does a reality show that E! would cover it.
Besides there has been Playboy TV since at least the early 80's.
Ah yes, the "exploiting women" angle. As if women werre incapable of making a decision of their own free will.
Hefner always seemed asexual to me. I watched part of a special on him the other day and he's one strange fellow.
Ditto. Supposedly, the current girlfriends that live in the mansion take turns with him.
sounds more like an advertisement than an alert :(
At once a month for this old codger their turn only comes around every 3 months, I am sure they have some young studs who fill their time and their bodies on a more regular basis.

LOL!! Like Playboy is new. Well, the magazine and cable network hasn't accomplished that in the last 60 years but you know what will? A reality show on E! That'll git r done!
I have to wonder if the donations to BJ Klintoon were actually monetary or if it was for services provided.
"TV porn alert" - Thanks for the heads-up, now I'll have to watch. Nothing wrong with some more eye candy on E!
Since the high horse crowd is consistently dishonest (more so than pornographers) I wonder how reliable this statement is.
Wishful thinking?
What's Hugh gonna do? Issue a hit on them?
Personally, I, if any such persons exist, would be eager to hear their stories as would many others who don't make a habit of believing everything they see in print.
ROFLMBO!
"Somehow the thought of the wrinkled up old Hugh mounting a foolish young woman is not pornographic to me, rather the opposite."
A wrinkled old man "mounting" a foolish beautiful girl EXCITES YOU?
YUCK!
"Hugh has destroyed countless marriages and people" - what looking at Playboy destroys a marriage? That's really funny.

doing what? Changing his diaper and wiping his drool.
Hope they don't ask them any hard questions.
Roll your eyes all you want, if it's what you need to do to keep from dealing with reality.
I do understand the reality here ... you do not.
He's probably the parasitic boob who covered up the boobs on the statue of Justice during the reign of Attorney General Nimrod.
Just another jealous government dolt.
Does anyone even read playboy anymore? I mean, it's such a parody of itself and Hef is nothing but an old man who still has this idea men envy him. He just gives me the creeps. Still wearing pajamas during the day and acting like he's really got it all figured out. I wonder if he realizes that no one really likes him.
Come on, people. Playboy are relatively tame. If it bothers you, then you are really in the prudish category.
The only consolation for those folks is that the Playboy empire is gradually fading away--the easy availability of porn on the Internet has seen to that. I read an issue of Playboy recently and it really has become a shrill, liberal rag. Of course, the girls make up for that. The Playboy 50th anniversary issue is a keeper, however.
As for Hefner, how many males among us wouldn't trade places with him (especially a younger Hef)? He's really led a fantasy life--ya gotta admire that on some level. As for him being "asexual", give me a break!
Down with normal porn!
A lot of 18 to 22 year old kids don't have the maturity to turn down $50 to $100k for a photo layout. This isn't intended to make women look weak, it's just that they happen to be the focus of this man and his empire's intentions.
It's like what Chris Rock says. People get upset if they see a naked image for a tenth of a second in a Disney cartoon, but will shrug their shoulders at the hard-core adult bookstore.
I subscribe to Maxim, Stuff, and Blender, and yes, I really do read them for the articles.
He is obsessed with himself, truly a pathetic figure, but he did make himself rich by appealing to the safe, legal side of his empire. Meanwhile he was on drugs and promoting the Larry Flint side of everything.
That's because when you go to an adult bookstore, you know what you're getting. Now you would not expect to see a naked breast during a Superbowl halftime show, especially if you have kids watching.
In my day we had "stag magazines" to go with our Playboys. Then came Penthouse, Hustler, and finally the porn industry itself. In the sexual seventies, porn was pretty much everywhere, as well as even more lacivious forms of adult businesses. I think it hit a peak between 1976-78.
My grown sons read Maxim for awhile, before they got married. Having a real life beauty of their own really changed their take on girls in magazines.
Most honest men will tell you they have looked at these types of magazines at some point in life. But this stuff is pretty darn trite and boring. I'm with those here who believe the Playboy empire has had its day and is on the last legs. When Hefner goes, Playboy will too.
Maybe you've got to admire it. I think it's contemptible. What I admire are men who provide for their families and care for their children.
GOOD POST!!--THE DATA SAYS IT ALL. HEFNER SUPPORTS THE DEMOS BECAUSE THEY HAVE VACATED TRADITIONAL MORES AND ARE ASSAULTING THOSE THAT WON'T. THAT'S WHY CONSERVATIVES SHOULD NOT LOOK AT HEFNER'S LEGACY AS NOTHING MORE THAN PLAYFUL EYE CANDY. HE HAS CHANGED OUR CULTURE AND NOT FOR THE BETTER. HE HAS CAPTAINED THE CULTURAL WAR AGAINST CHRISTIANITY.
Gee, I AM one of those men who provides for his family and children. Yet in many ways, I am also a slave to my lifestyle. If I had total freedom (freedom = $$), I might try my hand at writing a book, but my 70 hr/week job gets in the way. It's that perspective that makes me admire people who break the mold and succeed in shaping reality to suit them. Hefner is one of those people. They are very rare as 99.9% of us are slaves to the system.
You may be right--you may be wrong. However, I think you need to recognize that bad influences like those provided by the Playboy empire have spoiled homes and distracted otherwise good men from their primary duties in life. Good men do bad things when those things are made appealing and acceptable.
Pornography is one of the most powerful addictions embracing a large segment of our society. Hefner was one of the pioneers in pushing for general acceptance for pornography.
Really? Then by all means convince your (daughter-wife-mother) to pose for adult magazines and hand out copies to all your friends. If the thought of that doesn't humiliate you then you are in the wrong forum. If it does, then you are simply being a garden variety hypocrite.
Oh good grief.
Maybe "slaves" is a bad term--cogs in the machine is more like it. Yes, we make choices and take on obligations to be productive members of society. But while there are benefits to that, there is a price too. One price is always feeling continually worn out--a price that gets worse as I get older.
I take it you disagree--I'd like to hear your perspective.
I just disagree with your negativity. You have a family you provide for and a full time job which allows you to do that. You sound blessed to me...instead you refer to those things as a burden and express admiration for someone who is nothing more than a pervert who has managed to profit off of others' perversion. In reality, he has nothing.
