But it was some of the French Jews who were among the strongest opponents of the Le Pen's attempt to stop Muslim immigration. It seems that diversity does not work so well?
See 2002 arrticle: Le Pen Shocker Confounds France's Battered Jews
And for the diversity, open borders and Muslim immigration. Crazy.
Do not worry, soon it will be twelve million , then twenty ...
Chirac is either senile or hopelessly naive. Anywhere Muslims exist, anti-semitism exists. By the way, Canada's Muslim population numbers about 750,000.
.....I would bet the Jews fleeing socialist France will vote socialist in socialist Canada. Well, this is part of a great debate question that has puzzled many Americans for decades.....
Recall the kibitzum in Isreal. They were socialist from before the establishment of Isreal. I would argue the presence of a fair sized group of nonsocialist jews here on Free Republic is an anomaly rather than the norm.
I did a calculation based on birthrate data. The overall rate is 1.9 births/woman, or 190 live births per 100 women. By law the French hospitals can't record the ethnicity of the woman or child, but the fertility rates are known: 4/muslim woman, 1.5/indigineous Frenchwoman. It's not difficult to figure from there that 84 frenchwomen are having 126 babies, and 16 muslim women are having 64 babies. This tallies with the known fact that 1/3 of the babies born in France now are muslim.
If the above is correct, and it cannot be far off, 16 out of 100 women in France are muslim, and that may be taken as the overall proportion. So we can say: the population of continental France is 16% muslim, or about 9.5 million.
I hadn't expected the fires to start burning like this until the percent had gotten up at least to 20%, say another 5 years. But I've been wrong before ..
Do you have an authoritative citation for that? I'm not doubting you, it's just that I've never seen a reliable breakdown of fertility among demographic subgroups for any European country, certainly not France. If you know where I can get it I would appreciate it. This piece makes some defensible calculations and concludes that the whole Eurabia scenario is overblown in France.
Unbelievable bump.
I picked up the '1/3' number from an article called "Douce France' by Hugh Fitzgerald here: http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/2005/11/008928print.html
but it has been quoted in other publications.
The '1.9' is from a WP article here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A25763-2004May13.html but it or lower numbers crop up all the time.
The '4' number is not sourced anywhere per se; I've never found anything but estimates, which range from 3.2 to 5.2. And they are not current. The link you posted states that the rate is 3 births per foreign-born woman. That is lower than anything I've seen. And the 'declining muslim birthrate' appears to be true to some extent, but it depends on the immigrants taking on the culture of the west to really take their birthrate down. I don't see it happening, particularly now that they see it as their weapon of conquest. But again, we are all talking about the future ... who knows for sure which way these things will trend?
The '1.5' number again is an estimate, it shows up frequently in articles about French or European demographics, given typically as the reason France needs immigrants.
The above is certainly not how I would source a serious publication of any kind, and my analysis can easily be shredded by anyone who's of a mind to. I posted it on a "for what it's worth" basis. This is just my own best thinking on the best information I can get.
So glad to have this "aversion" affirmed. Surely Quebec welcomes you bigots from France.
Won't happen. They almost have a death wish it seems. Always voting for the communists, the socialists, and the totalitarians, because they are too afraid of conservative Christians.
Very disturbing if true. And think, by and large, you may be right. We better start locking up North America's borders soon.
Terrible news. Have you seen this yet?
"Montreal has its own history of anti-semitism."
Like naming a major metro station after Lionel Groulx. M. Duplesis for two, Parizeau for three...and so it goes.
Still I left Cote St. Luc for TO - taxes chiefly if I must be honest.
Good article. Thanks for the ping.
I had to laugh at Jappy being replaced by "Shalala" - sounds like a Van Morisson tune...
"It's a left swastika."
Dysleftia ;)
