I hate medicare and all other forms of Govt intervention but I am in the position most my age are that we have no other choice. The typical government "trap".If the government weren't involved as heavily as they are, it wouldn't cost nearly as much. They create the problem that generates the "solution" so as to continue to increase their power over us all.

Fer sure. If the governments had not offered "free anytime-free everytime" med care, we would not have hundreds of thousands of people dragging their snotty nosed rug rats to the doctor and emergency room nearly as much.
Aything "free" is NOT free. My first kid cost about $400. My daughter's cost many thousands. A goodly chunk is due to lawyers (I am a lawyer).
The rest is regulation and greed.
