Charles gives US a parting shot
By Caroline Davies in San Francisco
(Filed: 09/11/2005)
San Francisco is the Prince of Wales's "kinda place". He loves its public transport, declaring yesterday: "I'm so glad you still have the wonderful evocative sounds of the trams."
That had not changed in the 29 years since the prince was last here, and made him "sad" that Britain had so few left.
He was, undoubtedly, thrilled when the mayor, Gavin Newsom, pointed out that his city had the best electrified public transport system in America and a fleet of 1,000 alternative fuel vehicles.
It is a city where "environment", "organic", "sustainable" - indeed all the buzz words that excite him - are common parlance.
The prince has many supporters here, so where best to deliver the most powerful speech of his tour than a seminar on "peak oil, climate change and business action"?
He pulled no punches, hardening a message he had hinted at during a banquet with President George W Bush at the White House last week.
He told a seminar at San Francisco's Ferry Building: "The environmental crisis we face is another situation in which I believe the United States could use its power and influence to help create a sense of unity in a common cause among disparate peoples and sectors of society."
An especially appreciative female member of the audience yelled: "Come and be our president."
The prince said: "We simply can't go on as we are. Somehow we have to find the courage to reassert the once commonplace belief that human beings have a duty to act as the stewards of creation."
Speaking at one of his final engagements before he and the Duchess of Cornwall return to Britain, the prince urged America to reshape its economy to help the environmental cause.

Prince Charles and San Francisco were made for each other. Maybe if the Queen passes over him as her successor, he could run for mayor.

After seeing this idiot last Sunday on 60 Minutes I can only say that this pampered Royal has no real conception of what real life is all about and lives in such a protective and sheltered environment that he has no real idea how the World really works.
I would have to say that his IQ is really very low and he is just the sort of Liberal Elitist we despise in this country.
England itself is going down the tubes and how long before Muslim riots break out there.
60 years plus of European Socialism has brought them to this point and there are no real leaders left.
Charles as King with his Faustian Bride as Queen could and maybe should finally bring an end to the Monarchy although as a tourist attraction it is their only real moneymaker.
To: blam

Get the hell out of my country Chuck, you worthless, inbred trust-funder who's never even going to make it to the top of that insignificant monarchy that your "subjects" don't even consider to be worth the effort of dismantling. You guys lost it 230 years ago; you don't get to come back here and tell us how to run it. If you want to do something useful in the way of beautifying the environment, go find a good plastic surgeon for that wife of yours.

Anyone notice that while the good Prince and his wife were in the USA, there was a national celebration for Princess Diana back on the olde sod? Why do you think they were in the USA? So they didn't have to attend the Princess Diana gala. Mum took over duties for Prince Charles.

More evidence that leftists never read the US Constitution..... but if she wants him for Mayor of San Francisco, I say go for it!! He won't be any worse than the usual S.F. politicians and maybe he'll find a Queen of his very own there who doesn't despise him the way his mother does!!

Oh-yes, one more thing, find a new consultant/designer/hair stylist/dentist/plastic surgeon for Camilla. She's in desperate need of a makeover. You Charles, could use one too.
