I think the Republicans have gone off the conservative reservation this past year. That being said, they're head and shoulders above the 'rats.

That is no consolation though and IMO will turn more conservatives to vote 3rd party. That's what happened to me in '04 when I voted all Constitutional Party where they had people running in certain elections. Of course Tom Tancredo always gets my vote because he's conservative. Maybe this recent crackdown within the conservatives in the Rep party will help to change things around and push the GOP back to why they get elected. This lessor of 2 evils crap has gotten rotten. I do fight in my own way though, read tagline.

I have to disagree about going third party...if conservatives go third party, we get bona fide socialists in power. The Republicans, even when they lean left, are not the socialists the Democrats are. Heck, even Bush's prescription drug program has some competition built into it--something anathema to the anti-Capitalist Democrats.

Now I do thank God for the third party in 2000--Ralph Nader kept us from having Al Gore as President.

Oh, believe me that I have been hammered on this point and I know the talking points and consequences of conservatives voting 3rd party. But if the GOP doesn't listen to conservatives what good are they? When will you turn away if they keep going left?

Yeah - its 1994 all over again. The media is trying to create news. There is this fantasy world they live in - that the Democrats will regain their rightful place... at the top in Washington. Except that its uncannily similar to past predictions of a Liberal Tsunami.

(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie.Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")

Would someone please enlighten me as to when the MSM or Democrats have ever admitted one of 'theirs' has ever done or said anything wrong.
I've been racking my brain and can't recall it happening.

A lot can happen in a year and I expect it to, but its clear that if Congressional elections were in two days, the GOP would lose some ground.

Any other conclusion is denial.

Republicans never do well in hypothetical elections against Generic Democrats, but when it's actually time to vote, Generic Democrats tend to get replaced with the Moonbats.

True, and as I said the GOP image will improve in a year.

I have gotten vehement on this subject. Telling Israel what they can and cannot do to defend themselves against terrorists while at the same time giving aid to the terrorists (Palestinians) brings a real WTF to me. I suspect most Christians vote as a block and a Demo president would only make matters worse so maybe your "doesn't help anything" holds true because Christians see no way out other than to vote Rep.

Those who believe strongly, despite the establishment of a New Covenant by the sacrifice of Christ, that God has not yet finished with His Chosen People will certainly think twice before they support an anti-Israel administration.

If you hold this view and are God-fearing, there is a line they cannot cross and still expect you to vote for them. No matter what the Dims do.

People in this category would be mostly evangelicals and Baptists and a few Protestants. They won't vote Dim. A few will vote third-party but most will still vote but leave the ballot blank over any GOP candidate that they believe hates Israel or has worked to destroy it or undermine its claim to the ancient Promised Land. They will not lift their hand against Israel, even at the ballot box. It's a little flexible in how people draw that line but it does exist. Rice/Bush are very close to the line already IMO.

This is the same sh*t the post pullled in 1992 and at least I can say one thing about Bush and his officials, when the Conservative Movement voiced its didslike for Mires at least they listened unlike his father did on taxes. Republicans will maintain control of the Congress and even expand our number.

But when Republicans win elections after elections the "experts" are always stunned. Maybe the "experts" believe their own BS

I agree .. it's time for us to tell the dems - ENOUGH!

And .. we can do that by showing up at the voting booth and letting these people know we're not going to let them take over this country.

"Why do they disproportionately represent democrats in their sampling? "

They do it on purpose to get the response they want.

And .. I got polled just last night by NBC. I'm quite sure they didn't like my answers, but that's too bad.

Rice/Bush are very close to the line already IMO.

They've already crossed it for me. And I don't buy into the claptrap that Rice was only doing it for the Administration. She should have helped change that point of view and if not quit her position.

God brought the Jews back together and gave them that land. If the US tries to thwart those plans they will be going against the hand of God. From our viewpoint we might not see it as "unintended consequeces" but from God's viewpoint there is no such thing.

I certainly see your point. But I think we also have to balance the threat of a Dim presidency with a Pali-sympathizing Suah-Arafat-kissing Hillary.

So the choice is a little complex. But I think that Rice's pro-abortion and anti-Israel record will weigh heavily against her getting on the '08 GOP ticket. Beyond that, she has no executive or electoral experience in her own right.

Rice would fit as well, or as poorly, on a Dim presidential ticket as on a GOP one. Personally, I think it just as likely she would end up running as Hillary's running mate instead of as a Republican.

If the Reps can do no better than offer up Rice the party is severely in need of repair. Of course I think that now. But I think this latest conservative uprising has been great.

I will do anything I can to keep Hillary out of office and I would vote for Rice only if the race appeared to me as neck in neck. Then I would rely on Christians to bombard the White House and their reps to put a lid on the Israeli situation if Rice won.
