I use a Porter-Cable reciprocating saw with a fine-toothed, thin metal blade. Works wonders.

We carve the one on the right every year. The trick-or-treaters really love it!

If Hillie runs for re-election, I'm putting a plywood Broom Hilliary out in my yard. I'll paint the plywood cutout with Broom Hilda's bod and glue a pic of Hillie's face on it. And I'll leave up 'til election day.

I would think that would be hard to control, unlike a Dremel. At least if it's anything like my recip saw.

Well, it's big and heavy, no question about it, but it's variable speed and runs very smoothly, so even though I'm a woman there are no problems. I let my eleven-year-old use it. It's safer and easier than using a knife, particularly as my kids usually want some complicated pattern. The trick is to stablize the pumpkin before you start drilling or sawing it.

At least they also have Saddam Hussein designs to scare people with...and I'm not sure how many people will do such that...

The Toronto Star is a left-wing newspaper, even to Canadian standards...

And yet, the a$$hole who wrote this looks the other way as the liberals in power rape him and his country over and over...

I think we should call a spade a spade. What you have in power in the Land of the White Feather is left wing fascism. Those in power have reached the point where they cannot criticise themselves and they cannot stand others criticising them. All their hatred is projected onto the world beyond their borders, in this case Americans and in particular Americans who voted for G W Bush. However, one thing that stands out - while they are quick to criticise Australia for being part if the 'coalition of the willing', they avoid attacking Britain.
