Wow,between him and Sheryl Swoopes, it's one big flauntfest.
Beam me up the bubu Scotty
No. In one of the later ST movies, he was Commandor of the starship Excelsior. His ensign was played by Christian Slater, and there was definitely a homoerotic undertone between them!
Go back in the closet George...your starship has come and gone.
Ping
Is there anyone who hasn't heard the joke about Mr. Sulu "going where no man has gone before"? :-)
Star Trek TOS is the only trek series I really liked, too.
um, so what.
What suprises me today are people in Hollywood who are straight and have any set of morals. THAT is news worthy.
Thought Sulu came out of the closet when Kirk caught him playing hide-the-hamster on the holodeck.
Once again, way more information than I need.
Why that's almost interesting!!
Captain, we can't leave this planet!!! Not without buying some new loafers!!!
What does being homosexual have to do with the character in Equus??? That's my favorite play and I wish they wouldn't muddy the water.
Yes, homosexuality is against basic decency and American values. Oh, wait, nevermind.
So when he was running around half naked waving his sword....
Years ago--1980s?--he spoke at my college (Salem State in Mass.) and did a "station ID" for our radio station, WMWM.
He screwed up the first take, "91.7, FMFM...(laughs)...
ah, 'WMWM', right?" but then did one that was a keeper. I don't think we have the "cart" anymore but there were two "takes" we used:
"This is George Takei, Sulu of Star Trek. 91.7 FM, WMWM,
Salem. It's LIFE, Captain, but not as we know it."
AND
"This is George Takei, Sulu of Star Trek. When the
Enterprise is above Salem, the Captain orders Uhura to open the hailing frequencies to 91.7 FM, WMWM."
just remembering those! We also got an ID years ago from
when James Watt visited the school--and we put Beach
Boys music behind it (remember he cancelled an appearance
by that group at the White House...)
somebody needs to put up pictures of the bar owner in Good Morning Vietnam and Sulu
Only Gene Roddenberry could talk his wife (Nurse Chapel) and his former girlfriend (Uhura) to appear on the same show wearing such fine outfits...and not have a catfight in the process. Sad. That would have been a catfight to see.
Mr. Sulu knew what to do with Tribbles.
Reminds me of the Restaurant owner in "Good morning Viet Nam" who was looking for naked pictures of Walter Brennan.
