Ah yes, gone are the days of my childhood when my Mom would give me a box of those cherry flavored cough drops to take whenever my throat hurt. Nobody looked at me like I just shot up some heroin. The cough drop police didn't shadow me wherever I went. Nobody checked my purse for more of those wicked things AND - AND AND AND - I even brought peanut butter sandwiches w/me to school for lunch without fear that the kid next to me was allergic and would thereby have some sort of seizure. I miss the 50's.
Around here, an "over sharpened" pencil IS considered a weapon.
The neighbor kids told us they have to sharpen their pencil, then snap off the sharp tip of the point before returning to their desks.
There is a special somethingorother (Not to be confused with a thingamabob.) on the wall next to the pencil sharpener especially for it.
If they would do something similar to boys in the sex ed classes, I would support it. :)

Yes, the lefties are causing this, but it remains an open question whether the children themselves will accurately identify the left as the source of their current problems. Any group with the power to indoctrinate to the degree that "butter knife" equals "weapon" can also indoctrinate that "conservative" equals "bad" and "liberal" equals "the highest form of human intelligence".
Bear in mind that these same semantical games have gifted humanity with ominous words like "judenfrei". The present case has little to differentiate it from propagandist tactics of horrible past episodes where Stalin, Hitler, Mao and others drew water from the same poisoned well.
We do well to ensure that the task of identifying the real enemy (not absence of quotes, here) is actively undertaken with the children by genuine truth-lovers.
WOW, I just saw some guy after school light up a cigarette, ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. In an earlier event, at a football game, some guy light up in the BLEACHERS. cops were there, came down and just told him to put it out, and he looked under-aged! If I was the cop, I'd kick his @$$, and take him away in cuffs. oh, wait, he was black and the cops looked wight, so they'd probably get in trouble for being racist or something stupid like that. All that's going on while a 9 year old girl gets ARRESTED, for having a BUTTER KNIFE?!?!?
I CAN'T WAIT 'TILL I GET OUT OF CALIFORNIA!!!
Oh, the fun I could have had in school with zero tolerance. Piss me off and you never know when a butter knife would turn up in your backpack...
