original investigation complete - nada there. Now, after FBI spoke with neighbors of Wilson's last night, Fitzy needs more time to start the real prosecution of Joe & Val's big lie to congress & the GJ.

IIRC Fitzgerald still reports to the AG and must seek approval of any indictments from him.

Likely...but also extremely likely Fitz will indict any and every member of the administration he can, "irregardlessly".

It's the old "some sh*t sticks to the wall" scenario, and the 'Rats need ammunition for the 2006 election cycle.

This is an interesting take!

But .. if Joe and Val never testified before the GJ, can Fitz really go after them for lying to Congress ..?? Doesn't that have to be a contempt of Congress citation or something. The law in this case if very confusing.

OK, here's my conspiracy theory.

Yesterday, in Italy, Rocco Martino (sp) admitted to Italian authorities that he was on the payroll of France.

It had been reported that Fitz had been in Italy within the past 2-3 weeks re: the forged Niger docs.

Wilson's second wife has been described as French and a "cultural attache" at the French embassy.

It has been reported that Wilson knew about the Niger docs being forged before it was in the public domain????????

The theory of rogue CIA in cahoots with Plame/Wilson and others seems to make a lot of sense now.

Fitz' meeting with Hogan is for an expansion of the investigation.

Heck, my wife always told me I should write a spy thriller!

The following from a parallel story in the NY Sun http://www.nysun.com/article/22112

It was not clear why Mr. Fitzgerald chose to use a back stairway or elevator to reach his session with the chief judge, but if he took the usual route he would likely have been followed by a parade of journalists who gathered at the courthouse to await predicted indictments in the case.

They claim don't know why he took the stairs then answer why in the same paragraph. Does this make sense to them.

The MSM is very responsible. We know whats in Karl Roves garage, which way Fitzgerald walked thru the courthouse, but nary a clue what Mr. Berger smuggled out in his undershorts.

"... Fitz will indict any and every member of the administration he can, 'irregardlessly'."

That would be irresponsible on Fitz's part - and he has such a good reputation for applying the law - I don't see that happening. I don't see any member of the admin having committed a crime.

[...Fitzy needs more time to start the real prosecution of Joe & Val's big lie to congress & the GJ...]

Charges??? Conspiracy to destroy a Presidency. The Wilsons go to jail, while those of us who seek justice poise for more indictments of key CIA officials invovled in this plot.

Call me Pollyanna.

It's the end of the Grand Jury's term and he is reporting to the Chief Judge. I'd expect him to do that regardless of the outcome. It's premature orgasm in the MSM.

That's my thinking

Seymour Hersch wrote a piece in the NYT a year or so ago that claimed it was rumored that some disgruntled CIA folks created the fake docs tto try to discredit the war policy.
