How in the world can New Orleans support a Pro team when the population is made up of poor African/Americans that can't get along without US Federal money handouts? Are the Feds going to support the team for all it's needs?

Didn't Nagin relocate to Texas too?

He bought a house in Frisco and moved his family there.

What is the population of New Orleans right now? I bet it is the smallest NFL city BY FAR. And far too small to support a franchise. Naggin shoud shut up and face reality.

Not sure of the population now..... They had a tough time selling out the stadium before Katrina!

Heck, I agree, IF San Antonio can get a team out of this.

Hey Tom...tell Nagin that you are following your 'connect' to San Antonio and he will shut up.

Typical libral running a rotting city. He either can't or won't address the legitimate issues for fear of upsetting his base. Instead, he makes noise about tangential issues.

In New Orleans, it's about the Saints. Here in Cincinnati, they are tearing up Fountain Square and rebuilding it "to increase traffic of people from the suburbs to downtown".

Much like the long-term fate of the Saints in New Orleans, it's doomed to fail. Rather than addressing the lack of free parking and rampant crime, they waste $13 million on "make busy" issues in an effort to appear to be doing something.

Nagin is the same way.

...he's gotta rip somebody. It's been too quiet, and people are asking questions. Like, "hey boss, what do you wanna do with the buses in case Wilma gets close?"

San Antonio, especially if one include the whole area going up as far north as Round Rock, has a much larger population than NOLA. But the Stadium would be best placed between New Braunels and San Marcos.

Well, then, no need to restore the dome.

Add that to column of funds we aren't sending to
vanish in New Orleans.

Now that NO's corruption, incompetence, and natural
hazards have been fully exposed for all to see,
anyone who doesn't absolutely have to go back there,
won't.

Nagin might get a few by resigning.
Fat chance of that.

Come back to what? A trashed Superdome and a fan base without two nickels to rub together for tickets?

I don't blame them for staying in San Antonio. Texas is big enough for three teams.

Nagin has sure found a way to seal a business deal. Call out the guy you have to negotiate with in the press, and insult him. That'll get a good response. I'll bet Benson just loves the idea of coming back to Nawleens now.

Wouldn't be the first team to not actually play in the city whose name they bear, heck wouldn't even be the first team in Texas to do that.

but they can't take our logo, they can't take our name, and you give us a promise to give us a franchise when this city's back.

After the bulldozers are done with the place the Feds should rename it Old Orleans.

That should solve the name problem. :-)

Me neither. The "fans" here (Baton Rouge) refer to the team as the "Aints".

Hmm... I am willing to bet the $$ involved in renting a house there was probably from kickbacks, bribes, palm greasing, etc. That Nagin appears to be sleazy and spends WAY WAY too much press time blaming others instead of thanking the citizens of the US for their aid. And last but not least, he should be thanking GOD that so many of the citizens of NO were spared even more horrific scenes. What a dork.

Something tells me Green Bay, Wisconsin might be a little smaller.
