Probably too hammered to offer any real help.

He actually called 911 first. He's another idiot in a small boat with 4 people out to rescue the fishermen. Where were they going to put them when they reach them? Good Thing Coast Guard got their before they did.

Those weren't 4 people - they were just his arms and legs...I can understand how you might've been confused though.

Ted Kennedy exceeds the specifications for and is approved as a Type I Personal Flotation Device.

A truly disgusting physique. The only thing I can imagine worse is Teddy and Michael Moore out for a day sunning on the yacht together. (I apologize for the image).

The story I saw indicated the Rescue team waved Ted Kennedy off when they saw him heading toward the fishermen...considering Ted's history, such a scenario seems more likely.

They were safer on the boat than in his car.

This reminds me of Rush from a few years ago when he talked about Sen Howell Heflin being shown pictures of Teddy (who was not married then) cavorting with a young woman on his boat. Rush said the girlfriend dived into the water and Teddy went in after her. "Which was a first by the way...." LOL!

A 13 foot boat would have a capacity of about 600lbs, max. Teddy takes up over 1/2 of that, his pal the other 1/4 at least leaving room for at most 1 small person in a boat filled to capacity in a rough sea.

Brilliant seamanship.

"U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy attempted to rescue six men who had become trapped by high tide on a jetty off Hyannisport on Sunday"

This is being reported incorrectly. They were trapped because Teddy went in for a swim, raising the water level above the jetty. They were saved when he left the water to get a case of Chivas.
