Let's send up a nominee who will initiate a discussion on the proper role of the Judiciary, not what Bush knew and when did he know it. Two questions, CP.
1) What is your axe to grind with the current nominee?
2) You actually believe, see your quote above, that GWB could pick a nominee that the 'Rats would not have a cow over?
GWB's nominee could be my dog - and you would see / hear the 'Rat talking point objections before they figured out who or what they were talking about.
This is not about her past.
This is not about her qualifications.
This is not about how she would rule on the bench.
This is about the fact that she is GWB's nominee.
Do you have any French branches in your tree?
Buck up, man! Your logic is to offer up a candidate that "will please" the a$$holes. F*** them!

Lots of money and shady people involved in State lottery commisions all over the country. It's all about the gambling. Other than State pension plans how else are pols going to launder and skim money. This cuts across party lines. Grifters and graft.

Just unbelievable. I hope that Jim Robinson is watching what is going on FR. Some people on this site have really lost it.The Kitties would stop it but they can't stop laughing. Just today we've had the First Lady's comments distorted, people channeling David Gregory by demanding the President apologize for exercising his Constitutional right of appointment, and now this -- using a liberal rag's worthless National Guard distortion as a means of attacking the Miers' nomination.
Expect a number of the hyperventilators to spontaneously combust.
Anyway, I hope JimRob lets this stuff go. It's hilarious.

What is it about Texas (is it the water?) that they have so many of the most psychotic Democrats outside of California and Massachusetts??? As few as twelve years ago, the Democrats ran this state. They had the governor, the State Senate, the State House, all of the statewide offices and virtually all of the Congressional seats.
But, now, they've got...nothing. No governor, no control of either branch of the legislature, no statewide offices and only 1/3 of the Congressional seats.
Yeah, those few Democrats that are left are the crazy ones. All the sane folks are Republican...

It needs repeating again and again. Civility and rational debate are getting pummeled pretty bad on FR right now.

He does. It will cost him $50,000 to break the confidentiality agreement he signed.
Not if he's subpoenaed to testify before the Judiciary Committee. You are quite stupid. You keep insisting that Bush can hide behind Executive Privilege and confidentiality agreements. Nixon made that
gamble too, and he lost. If Bush loses public opinion, as he has been, then he has nothing. If the public doesn't buy the legalistic dodging, then he's up against the wall.
Do you really think Harriet Miers is worth Bush gambling his legacy and his relationship with the public and his own party over?

I'm starting to think Krauthammer is right that Miers will have to reucuse herself from too many cases that might come before the SC dealing with National Security.

But but but Michael Moore and George Soros are CERTAIN that it happened that way. < /sarcasm >
As sure as John Kerry was that President Nixon sent him to Cambodia in 1968.

Counterpunch, see what I meant when I said nothing would boost Bush's popularity faster than to rehash this old discredited junk?

They have the same stench of unreason and fanaticism as many of the Dim's arguments against Bush in the last election.
Of course they do. Because its exactly what they're going to make the Miers hearings about. That's the whole point. the question is: do we really want to go through this again?
Is Harriet Miers worth it?

You are quite stupid.Strong words coming from one who is using a Bush National Guard Service attack piece to attack this nomination -- not to mention a violation of posting guidelines. But hey, if you are determined to become Meow Mix, don't let me stop you!

I'm beginning to think that Bush purposely invites this kind of thing just so we can all talk about him some more. He's starting to turn into our very own Bill Clinton. Please give me your address so I will send you a roll of Reynolds Aluminimum foil wrap and you can have more tin foil hats to wear.
