That is the attitude the Republican party takes with Conservatives that puts them in the current situation and ensures their defeat. So which 3rd party are you voting for in '08?

Well said (#30). While I'm reluctantly willing to give Bush the benefit of the doubt on Miers for now, it seems almost Clintonesque to me when I see a conservative parse out how she, technically, meets the qualifications for Supreme Court justice and therefore, "why are you whining about it?". Okay, sure, technically she meets the definition of qualified -- but how can anyone, given what's at stake, not feel some concern about the fact that so many other, "openly" conservative candidates were passed over?

I'm not sure how I will vote in 08, that is a long way away and we have not seen this issue played out yet.
I don't vote for political parties, I would not piss on either one of them if they were on fire, I vote for people and ideas.
I would not have a problem voting 3rd party or staying at home as a message to the Republican party that "power is given and power is taken away".
Currently I do not believe a legitimate 3rd party exists, but if the Conservatives from both parties joined together, that would make an interesting mix.

Currently I do not believe a legitimate 3rd party exists...I agree with you 100% there.
...but if the Conservatives from both parties joined together, that would make an interesting mix.
Okay, there I have to laugh. Let's say that there really are "conservatives" in the RAT party. If they really were conservative, why remain a Dem? Many moderate to right-leaning Dems have already bolted, so I don't think that there are any left on the Left (no pun intended).

Seems to me, Elitist do most of the whining and the loudest.

Yeah, I agree that came off as being pretty ridiculous.

You caught my allusion exactly.

To hear the howls from conservative commentators following President Bushs nomination of Harriet Miers, you would think that Bush just sold a seat on the Supreme Court to someone whos a cross between Ann Richards and Barney the White House pet.
Biggest problem with her, the last stealth candidate we had was Souter. Enough said.

It takes time for people in the middle who have actually started to think of themselves as Republicans to adopt more conservative positions. Like most of us, I didn't do it all at once.
So...the Republicans have to govern like pu$$ies and nominate "stealth" candidates for judgeships so they don't lose these independant minded voters? In other words, "pi$$ off conservatives, we don't need you."
Ok. Lets watch them win in '06 without conservatives. Or will enough be stupid enough to (while still clutching their groins in pain) crawl into the polls to beg to be kicked in the teeth too?

You frame your argument so well, you've convinced me. I'm going show 'em! I'm going to stay home on election day. Serves the Republicans right. The Democrats will do a much better job of playing to Bush's conservative base.
You win! Hillary in '08!!!
