Can we agree that it's not what Bill Bennett said that got him into trouble, but the way he said it? I don't think there is a racist bone in his body, but the media and 'Rats are still trying to get a lot of mileage out of this story. I'm sick of hearing about it. What else is he to do? Apologize?
I am very suspicious of Bill Bennett. His brother, whom Bill has defended in the past, is evil and is currently spreading lies related to the Judith Millar affair.

"why give them the opportunity (to attack)?" One good reason -- I refuse to edit my words so that I don't get attacked. That's dangerously close to walking on eggshells, in my opinion. And giving them the power to control our words.
I liked this column; Bill Bennett is a Godly man. Was it brash? Yes. Are the dems out for blood? YES. It is perhaps an honor to be attacked by them, for you are perceived to be a strong threat.

By sheer mathematics, he is correct. His error was specifying race.
If he does anything, he can apologize for using the race specific term "black". That apology would be adequate and parallel to the faux-apologies we hear from the stumble-tongued liberals.
