Two words. At Bucknell University, that's all it takes to get dragged into the President's Office for a half-hour discussion of word choice. And these aren't offensive words, at least not out here in the real world. But Bucknell apparently has a different definition of what is and is not acceptable.
On August 29th, the Bucknell University Conservatives Club sent out a campus-wide e-mail announcing an upcoming speaker: Major John Krenson, who had been in Afghanistan "hunting terrorists." Those two words--"hunting terrorists"--resulted in three students being called to Bucknell's Office of the President by Kathy Owens, the Executive Assistant to the President.
According to the students, when they arrived at the President's Office for the meeting, Ms. Owens held up a print-out of the offending e-mail and said "we have a problem here," telling the students that the words "hunting terrorists" were offensive. For the next half-hour, the three students were given a lecture on inappropriate phrasing.

These students need to file a lawsuit (as much as I hate lawsuits) to put this school administrator on the hot seat. Lets see how she justifies this in a court of law! You know damn well she doesn't haul in any of the A.N.S.W.E.R crowd into her office when they call OUR troops murders!

Pretty scary stuff. Bucknell is not far from here and this is a very rural, middle America region of Pennsylvania. Most parents here would happily send their children to Bucknell and I daresay most of them have no idea what they'd be getting the kids into.

My daughter graduated from there 7 years ago..It's a very lib, and very PC campus...BTW.. a year or so ago, the NY Times magazine had a big cover article about college consrvative at ..you guessed it..Bucknell, of all places..wonder if these are the same kids..

Sounds like Bucknell's top dog likes terrorists. Wonder if he knows the guys into using paintball systems to train for attacks against Americans ~ they lived around here. Check his travel record of the last couple of years and see if he's been in the DC area.

lower level than an animal. All other animals should

And by the way, there are no freedom fighters in Iraq,
they're terrorists. Our soldiers are killing them

Dr. Kathleen Owens joined Bucknell University in August 2001 as Assistant Director of Institutional Research and Assessment. She was promoted to Associate Director in 2003. During her time in Institutional Research and Assessment, Dr. Owens was deeply involved in the Middle States Review and worked closely with academic departments on educational outcomes assessment. Dr. Owens joined the Office of the President as Executive Assistant to the President / Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees in July 2004.
Prior to coming to Bucknell, Dr. Owens was a faculty member in the Movement Sciences department at Westfield State College (Westfield, MA). She earned her doctorate in sport psychology from Springfield College in 1999.

Her four years were marred by a Dean they brought in from Berkeley.....he was removed after the four years.
Unfortunatley things have only gotten worse.

Reminded her that we had left the university a substantial sum in our wills.
After a previous incident of conservative bashing, we removed that from our wills.
Since my daughter was in the science field, she rarely if ever had to contend with this liberal nonsense. For her electives she took photography and Impressionist Art.
She tried to avoid the lib crazies.

One of my daughter's professors emailed her......BET THAT'S YOUR MOM!!!
He said things had really gone downhill at Bucknell. Pretty sad.
Wouldnt you love to be a huge benefactor to that university and be able to pick up the phone and tell the chancellor that all payments have ceased??? Pure joy im sure.
