Four Central Florida middle school students were arrested Monday for allegedly ripping off the clothes off classmates and then snapping photos with their cell phones, according to a Local 6 News report.
Investigators said the boys, ages 12, 13 and 14 years old, attacked the girls Friday at Tavares Middle School in Lake County, Fla., in the back of a school bus. The boys then allegedly groped the girls and took pictures of them.
Cell phone video allegedly showed one of the girls screaming for help while the boys touch her breasts, according to the report.
Police said the attack continued after the boys got off the bus when they pulled another girl by her hair. When she fell, detectives said they put their hands up her skirt.
Detectives said it is a crime that comes close to being rape, Local 6 reporter Jessica Sanchez reported.
"You forcibly hold someone down, you remove their clothing, you are fondling that person -- if these children had been adults, this is a crime, if convicted, they would be labeled sex offenders for the rest of their lives," Lake County sheriff's Sgt. Christie Mysinger said.
Police said two of the boys have confessed to taping the attacks with their cell phones, Local 6 News reported.
Also, police are looking at surveillance video from the school bus.
All of the boys face felony charges.
BTW, the way I read it, it's not "roughed up". It's sexual assault.
A phone for emergencies is a good idea. Some here advocated arresting the parents when their children have cell phones. Most of the use is nonsene, but that's a parental problem. They can be a good thing.
Perhaps it was a woman, who didn't think she could handle it.

Based on the area; I'm guessing the girls were either black or mixed-minority.
Regardless I am praying for the poor girls. I doubt they have much of a support system and it will likely leave lasting damage.
Hopefully there will be some adequate support for these girls.
Yet another reason to homeschool. (It also doesn't bother me in the least that my 11 year old daughter was a judo champion at the age of 7.)
I think it's a local policy. I've seen other small towns in Florida do it. The Democrat infested area I live in doesn't do it.

Their moms have probably been treated that way themselves, and while they probably know, can't do a darn thing about it.
This has nothing to do with the fact that these creeps were black, but a lot to do with Hollywood/LA stimulated black rap "culture," that has taken a social problem (wlefare-state black men who hate women and will not accept responsibility for their children or anything else) and made it into a cult icon to be emulated. Incidentally, most of the people profiting from this are not black.
The girls are probably black, and they are probably used to being treated like garbage. My sister worked in a GED program where something like 98% of the students were black. Girls outnumbered boys by a huge margin, because they were at least trying to get their lives together; most of the boys had been assigned by their probation/parole officers, and dropped out as soon as they thought they could do so without getting sent back to jail.
One horrible detail: three girls in her class were pregnant by the same guy, who was several years older than they were (and if he had been white, statutory rape charges would have been pressed against him). One of the girls, who had probably been about 15 when she had been impregnated, decided to go to court for child support. And the other girls cut her out and even threatened to kill her for going against "their man." She had to be walked to her car for protection.
Black girls are completely beaten down by these guys. Sometimes when they are much older, they get smart. But it can take a long time. Black girls need to have more self-respect, but with NARAL there just telling them to flop over on their backs, go to the local abortion clinic and have it "taken care of," they're not going to learn that self respect any time soon.
It happened to my cousin too - must've been 1969 or 1970. The result of it was that her parents got her enrolled in another school district, because their school district apparently didn't think a 6th grader being held down by a bunch of boys and having her clothes ripped off was a big deal. It was in a pretty rural area too, no racial component - just obnoxious boys who thought they could get away with it, and did!
