I appreciate his war service and the fact that he was a POW. However, it would seem that all that time as a POW caused a substantial amount of brain damage.
If McCain doesn't slap her across the face and say "come to your senses" he's toast for 2008. I'll do all I can to see he is not elected.
If he goes to the jail to visit Sheehadi, they can lock him up with her, as far as I am concerned....

I don't think that McCain wants to "legitimize" Sheehan (any more than the MSM already has) by meeting with her. If he did he would not have made the "disagree about getting the troops out of Iraq and New Orleans" remark. I think he means to contrast his "reasonableness" and "open-mindedness to other points of view" with both the "bull-headed" President and Mr. Bush's critics on the Left. I think that he will try to charm Cindy into "agreeing to disagree", and coax a few complimentary remarks out of her. Unfortunately, that will not make Mother Sheehan go away.

McCain, like Jesse Jackson and othes of no real consequence, will do anything to get attention. Since they have no attraction themselves they must bask in the reflective glory, or gore, of others.
McCain could save himself the trip. Everything this nutcake will tell him could be found in "The Nation."
Sheehan should be prosacuted under the new law prohibiting anyone from having hateful thoughts.
