If Russert had any objective curiousity, he would've simply asked how it was that these phone calls were being made when communications were down. And if she could've called out, why didn't she or her son call someone who could've got them out. The story never sounded right from the start.

Hopefully Rita will take a turn and hit NO again. It's already ruined anyways and would be poetic justice, washing away the corruption for good.

Don't be too suprised if Broussard's brother-in-law turns out to be a director of the nursing home.

Timmy is a DNC hack, a political operative, an activists, and a faux "journalists", he has been a poser for over a decade.

No Republican/Conservative should stoop to being "interviewed" by a DNC official, to be berated and lectured too.

It is demeaning.

Re: Tim Russert - anytime he's the moderator of a debate and he accepts questions from Americans ahead of time, and he uses them to play gotcha with the candidate who's not so quick on his feet or has something to hide, the winner of a debate that he's moderating usually wins the election. At least that's how it worked in Florida. Nobody can trip up a politician or candidate like Russert.

worse, why didn't anyone go and get her? they just ignored these "plea's" when they could have walked the couple miles and got everyone out.
The reason this guy make up this story was to cover up their collossal failure, and shift the blame to Bush and FEMA. It not only was a act, it was pure evil. The guy belongs in prison for this.

The first clue was the phone calls since there was no service.

Speaking of Rather. I'm channel surfing in my comfy red living room and who do I see on Larry King? Needless to say I lost dinner and I have to purchase another remote... guess the exorcism didn't work.

He's a lurker for sure... but then again, he would have a clue if he was.

What's strange is... a lot of libs loathe him as well.

It's funny how they consider some MSM leftists to the right... they hate them as well. No one ever accused them of having a brain.

Tim Russert has not come clean yet--we will see if he does.

Like 9/11 and the SHAM Report on 9/11, there will be many lies and twisted stories that are accepted as facts, most done to slam the adminsitration.

We are not a centralized statist nation (as of now, at least, even if weare headed that way). As such, the Feds are NOT responsible for local and state management and palnning and preparation.

What is needed is a true investigation. That will not happen. Like the 9/11 CommisSHAM, what we will get is government investigating government, instead of--as it SHOULD be-- the private sector investigating government.

There will be a whitewash over Mayor Numnut Nagin and Governor "I drew a blank" Blanco and fingers will point to Bush and the Feds, even though the Feds have no resposnsibility to manage cities, city bus drivers, the counties and the state.

In the United States today, we never have a full and proper investigation on major governmental problems. Just ask those involved with Able Danger. Republcians continue to run cover for the RATs. Bush ran cover for Clinton and Reno over the scandals, the Bush ran cover for Clinton after 9/11/, then the 9/11 CommisSHAM ran cover for Clinton with its CHA summary (Cover His Ass), and now Bush will once again run cover for Nagin and Blanco.

Why Bush continues to be untruthful by failing to direct responsibility to those who are to blame (Scumbag, Nagin, Blanco, et al) is a mystery to all conservatives.

We need to all e-mail Russert with this story and ask him when he'll issue an apology.

What's his e-mail address?

I think the Bush family noblesse oblige does not allow them to point fingers.

The media is busily rushing around trying to convince the American people that the reason the Keys were evacuated so efficiently, and the reason the Texas coast is being evacuated so efficiently is because everyone has learned the lesson of Katrina. LOL!

Do they really think people are that stupid? They know that it's the locals who have the plan, who put it into motion, and warn people to have 3 days supplies with them. They do that because everyone-EVERYONE-knows it takes that long to get help into an area after a storm. The supplies are there, it's just that it takes time to get them to everyone.

All these media types are being exposed for the partisan hacks they've become.

I've done my part on that one. Actually, I sent two letters the other day. The first had to do with the Broussard lie and the second had to do with his exchange this past weekend with Eugene Robinson about ‘those reasonable sober people that believe the levees were deliberately blown up’. Of the two segments, I think the racism comments with Robinson actually has me the most infuriated.

Of course, I'm not expecting a reply but my spleen will now be able to survive to see another day.

I have mixed feelings on Russert.

Not me - he disgusts me almost as much as Rather. In my view, the entire 'blame the feds for Katrina and Katrina response' started (or at least didn't get into gear) until the MTP comments by Russert on the Sunday following the hurricane.
