I used to have regard (never respect) for Tim Russert, but too often since 2002 Russert has been in lock step with the Anti Bush MSM. Russert may give token attention to negative facts concerning the Democrat Politicians, but like most in the MSM he will gloss over anything that points to democrat incompetence while hammering the GOP. Russert is Dan Rather Lite IMHO

Tim Russert has not come clean. This Broussard sham was exposed on 9/7 by CBS. It got no mention on NBc tv. In fact, MSNBC replayed the tape endlessly, even though it was debunked. When MSNBC did finally acknowledge the lie on 9/18 it was written about as a "misunderstanding".
Tim Russert, to my knowledge, has not commented or corrected his story. He is part of the problem. He is no better than Rather.

BS. For example: He interviewed Chertoff and the first question. When will you resign? The next week he interviews Ray Nagin and it seemed like an episode of Oprah. When he interviews Republicans or conservatives he is persistent in his questioning and rather aggressive. But when he interviews liberals he never follows through on tough questions. Letting the pinkos escape. Meat balls down the plate.

The story is getting some play.

I used to have mixed feelings on Russert. I don't anymore. Like someone above said, "He sucks".
You needn't have any doubt how he votes.

Well, Russert was perhaps the only member of the MSM who went after Clinton on Chinagate, so he deserves some specks of respect.
To: frankjr
I also wrote to a big mouth radio talk show host who day after day is on a Bush bash and playing that sound bite repeatedly. Think we will see a retraction and apology for misleading the public? Na. They will just go on as if nothing happened and hope nobody sees the true story.

Tim Russert is a Clintonite of the first degree. Fug him and the whore he rode in on.

How anyone could look at the situation and not blame the Mayor and Governor for the human and economic disaster is beyond me. The jackasses refused food and water from the Red Cross at the Super dome because they didn't want it to become a magnet. They wanted people to leave the city, but they waited too long to call for the mandatory evac. The people had nowhere to go although the hundreds of flooded buses could of removed thousands but that's another story. Unfriggin' real!
To: Chi-townChief
Plain and simple - what Broussard did was use political hype and lies to distort facts about this lady's horrible murder! The nursing home people walked away and left elderly people to drown and Broussard is covering it up with lies. IMHO, he ought to be charged, along with the nursing home's caretakers........
To: conservativecorner
Take a look at Galviston today. Busses loading up and taking everyone out. Why didn't that happen in NO? But media is already spinning it as a "lesson learned from Katrina" not a city following an orderly evacuation plan.
To: tryingtomakesenseofthis
If it's addressed at all, they'll excuse Broussard's lies as a result of "pressure and stress", claim that President Bush was personally responsible for ensuring that those nursing home residents were evacuated, and state that the stories about the rejected offers for water and rescue are lies put out by the White House to try and shift blame to the locals. Russert and NBC will never own up to this.

Have any of them dropped the "The only reason they're being evacuated so early is because they're white" card yet?

No, because the media clip I saw shows that they are mostly black. LOL! But they are using greyhounds.

Rockefellerist? I guess if his mentors Daniel Patrick Moynihan and and Mario Cuomo are Rockefllerists too.

Did they bother to look at FL last year when it was hit multiple times by major storms? Didn't have any problems there either.
To: Chi-townChief
The true story started to emerge the week after the MTP program.
Still, going on 3 weeks now, Russert has not apologized, corrected, nor retracted the story. He is doing essentially the same thing that Rather did with the fake memos. This was a fake story. Russert should own up to the fact that he got snookered. He got taken in. He allowed his agenda to cloud his judgment.
Russert loses more and more each day he lets this linger. He makes frequent appearances on NBC's Today and other cable programs. He has had plenty of opportunity to set the record straight. He continues to let it linger.
Russert is devolving into Rather-II.

I want to see him on Meet the Press, play the clip, then say,
"What you have just seen is not true. We, and other members of the media, have run this clip over and over again in an effort to discredit and embarass the Bush administration."
I want Amy Smart and a winning lottery ticket without paying for either one, too.
