Gallegos, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, faces second-degree murder charges in the wreck. The case has generated widespread discussion because Gallegos had been convicted three times of driving while intoxicated but never deported.

So many laws are introduced that could stem the tide of illegal alien immigration almost overnight - only to be struck down by the open border lobbyists.
This probably will be another one . .
==================================
U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., whose district includes Mount Holly, has introduced legislation that would increase the responsibility of local law enforcement agencies to report immigration status, deportation orders and failures to appear to the FBI's National Crime Information Center database within 30 days of incidents involving illegal immigrants.

...that collided with a truck driven by Ramiro Gallegos... Question: What kind of truck? A personal pickup? Or was it a commercial vehicle? As in, "illegal alien employed as truck driver", which, of course, NEVER happens.
Inquiring minds, etc.

Hey, break one law, break another...
what's the dif ?
To: Happy2BMe
Eh, just remove life support from the comatose woman and let the DUI illegal alien go free.
Lord knows there's plenty of precedent for both.

Prayers for this family whom are suffering. Here's another tragedy inflicted by an illegal alien. Again, I call on President Bush to visit the family and explain why this had to happen.
Secure our borders now! Enforce existing immigration laws now! Deport the 15-20 million illegal aliens in this country now! Jail the business owners who hire illegals now!

Tina Gardner suffered severe injuries and has been at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh in a coma since. A family Web site said over the weekend that though she remains comatose and unable to talk, she is attempting to interact with visitors by squeezing hands. Gardner has been receiving physical therapy and had a trachea tube removed last week. She is listed in fair condition.

This is an important story on two different levels. First, prayers for Mrs. Gardner's complete recovery. Second, why does this continue to happen? Gallegos should have been deported the first time! Now, he faces charges, and will be living off the taxpayers for a few years. Will they deport him after his release??????

" Water under the bridge now, but if yer not gonna deport him, at least lock him up."================================
Deportation is a sad joke.
How would you like to take 300,000 to 1 odds on immigration reform?
N.C. congresswoman: Why does state have one deportation officer? (Resident killed by illegal alien.)
(click)
Though North Carolina has an estimated 300,000 illegal immigrants, the state has one federal deportation officer who's among fewer than 10 people in the state who work for Detention and Removal Operations, a unit of ICE.
300,000 -to- 1

Been there, and she has a lot of work ahead of her. God bless her.
