As one who has greatly benefitted from the prayers of many a Freeper, I come to you today to ask for prayers for a dear colleague of mine. His name is Colin and I am proud to call him friend.
Colin was diagnosed today with brain cancer.
Colin and I started our work together in February, 2003 in less than optimal circumstances. In short, he and I were thrown together into a maelstrom of frantic and unending work (upwards of 20 hours a day) immediately following the loss of shuttle Columbia. It was in those days that he and I and many others worked closely together to assure that the latest information was being gathered and made publicly accessible as expeditiously as possible. It was a difficult time, but thanks to God and a great team with whom we were both blessed, we all emerged from that harrowing time with our wits still intact.
Colin is a good man; conscientious and dedicated not only to his work, but to his family. Though all of us around him knew something was wrong with his sudden onset of forgetfulness and increasing difficulties in communicating, it wasn't until he experienced a 10-minute petite mal seizure that it was clear something was incredibly wrong.
Please keep Colin, his wife and his children in your prayers. They face a long and arduous road ahead; one filled with surgery, chemotherapy, radiation...but, I pray, one also filled with hope, faith and recovery.
Thank you all for your prayers. Colin and his family really need them. God bless.
| May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His contenance upon you and give you peace. In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. |
Our prayer here in Idaho are rising up to our Father in Heaven for Colin and his family and friends. May His healing Hand be upon them...to comfort them, to lift them up and support them.
God bless you and Colin!
Praying in all agreement for Colin's healing, comfort and spiritual wisdom - and peace of heart mind and spirit to all family.
O Lord our God, Who by a word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every sickness and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to Your servant Colin and cure him of every sickness of which he is grieved; and send down upon him Your great mercy, and if it be Your will, give to him health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Both now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Joining those in prayer and best wishes.
Dear Lord, please wrap Colin up in your cloak of compassion, and grant him freedom from pain, and please grant comfort for his family.
I'm sorry to hear of this. Every good wish for his speedy and complete recovery...
It would be a pleasure to mention him in my prayers.

Prayers for Colin and his family.
One day a while back, a man, his heart heavy with grief, was walking in the woods. As he thought about his life this day, he knew many things were not right. He thought about those who had lied about him back when he had a job.
His thoughts turned to those who had stolen
his things and cheated him.
He remembered family that had passed on. His mind turned to the illness he had that no one could cure. His very soul was filled with anger, resentment and frustration.
Standing there this day, searching for answers he could not find, knowing all else had failed him, he knelt at the base of an old oak tree to seek the one he knew would always be there. And with tears in his eyes, he prayed.
Lord- You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have told me to do many things for you, and I happily obeyed. Today, you have told me to forgive! I am sad, Lord, because I cannot. I don't know how. It is not fair Lord. I didn't deserve these wrongs that were done against me and I shouldn't have to forgive. As perfect as your way is Lord, this one thing I cannot do, for I don't know how to forgive. My anger is so deep Lord, I fear I may not hear you, but I pray that you teach me to do this one thing I cannot do - Teach me To Forgive."
As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt something fall onto his shoulder. He opened his eyes. Out of the corner of one eye, he saw something red on his shirt.
He could not turn to see what it was because where the oak tree had been was a large square piece of wood in the ground. He raised his head and saw two feet held to the wood with a large spike through them.
He raised his head more, and tears came to his eyes as he saw Jesus hanging on a cross. He saw spikes in His hands, a gash in His side, a torn and battered body, deep thorns sunk into His head. Finally he saw the suffering and pain on His precious face. As their eyes met, the man's tears turned to sobbing, and Jesus began to speak.
Have you ever told a lie? He asked?
The man answered - yes, Lord.
Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?
The man answered - " yes. Lord."
And the man sobbed more and more.
"Have you ever taken something from work that wasn't yours?" Jesus asked?
And the man answered - "yes, Lord."
"Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain? "
The man, crying now, answered - "yes, Lord."
As Jesus asked many more times, "Have you ever"?
The man's crying became uncontrollable,
for he could only answer - "yes, Lord."
Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and the man felt something fall on his other shoulder. He looked and saw that it was the blood of Jesus. When he looked back up, his eyes met those of Jesus, and there was a look of love the man had never seen or known before.
Jesus said, "I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you.
It may be hard to see how you're going to get through something, but when you look back in life, you realize how true this statement is.
Read the following first line slowly and let it sink in.
If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.
Lord I love You and I need You, come into my heart, today.
For without You I can do nothing.

I join in earnest prayer for Colin, his wife and family!

This is a hard time for all concerned. I am all too aware of the pitfalls of cancer treatments, and I am even more keenly aware of how faith and trust in the Lord can be most powerful medicine.
God bless you all. On behalf of Colin and his family, I am in your debt.

Prayers from TX
I pray in the name of our Lord Jesus that Colin will recover completely, and that He will give Colin and his family and friends grace and strength during the months ahead.
I have come to learn, it is always one step forward and two steps back, because of the sin and wickedness in this world.
Our food supply, air and water supply is all tainted from those of satan - not of God. Those of satan would have us believe that things are the way they are and cannot be changed. Those of satan have taunted me and asked "where is your god now?" - but my answer is always steadfast and true - "He is right here - carryinig me through every pain, trial and abuse that comes my way".
God does not cause things to happen. It is the sin of this world that causes us pain.
God is the relief and the comfort and the band-aid that comes to cover our wounds and comfort us.
The affliction brought upon you is not of God, but if you allow Him, He will use this as a lesson for many around you. You can strengthen, support, and let your light shine through all of this - giving Glory to the Father for what He will do, and is doing.
My step-mother had brain cancer, and passed in 1997. I worked for a team of Neurosurgeons then, and began alot of research in this area. There are things the earthly world can do - and this is not your last stand - although you will have days when you feel as though it is.
Strengthen yourself in The Lord, and give this affliction and your life to Him. He will work ALL out for the good and His Glory.
Dear Heavenly Father, you know the situation Colin is in. You know what his body needs, and You God, are the One True Physician we all need so badly.
I give Colin to You, Father, laying Him at Your Feet - and I ask with all I have and all that I am that You will heal Him, ease his worries, and kept him safely in Your arms.
Above all, Father, I ask that Your Will be done, and that Colin's life will be used to bring Glory to You, that others will see through his trials and pain that he stands strong in You, never wavering.
So many times, Lord, I have forgotten that You have me, and that all of the things I go through can easily be remedied by simply giving it to You, and laying it down. Help Colin to understand this - help him not to make the mistakes I do - to never forget You are there - waiting with open arms, to love and comfort him.
Please Father, ease his mind, heal him, and above all, carry him through whatever You see coming his way.
I claim Your Word - that anything asked in the Name of The Son shall be done for it will bring Glory to You. So In Jesus' Precious Name, I beg these things, Amen.
Prime Choice, thank you for allowing us to pray for Colin, and I pray for you to - what a wonderful friend and sister in Christ you are to bring him here to us and especially to God to be lifted up. Stay strong, read your bible - concentrate on the New Testament and the promises Jesus made for us all. Trust me - it works - as God is infallible, and the Word NEVER lies to us.
For you I also pray God's loving arms around you, so that you may be a pillar of strength for Colin.
How wonderful you are.
Love In Christ - to all of you, Just Kimberly
Prayers up for Colin and his family and thank you for giving us the opportunity to pray for him.
No debt. No debt at all. We all need each others help in this world and that's what the Freepers are all about.
My prayers are with Colin and hid family in this very difficult time.
Prayers for Colin, for a full recovery!
