Yes, strange thing about how efficient FEMA was here in Florida - where we have a plan, a good governor and efficient state support. FEMA came in afterwards with loan and grant apps, etc. - all the stuff it's supposed to do. Rescuing people from rooftops is not one of them.

BTW, FEMA is also pretty efficient. They are now recovering amounts that were "paid in error" (that is, for fraudulent claims filed by low-lifes who lost nothing) - and prosecuting some of the scum who were trying to profiteer. Guess LA wouldn't like that part of it at all! What's a government program if you can't steal from it?

Mr. Witt is advising Ms.Blanco in order to continue service to his client of 30 years, not Ms.Blanco. When Bush called Blanco and asked her to cede authority so he could act (more than 24 hours prior to Blanco declaring a state emergency) I suspect Blanco was in touch with Ms.Clinton. She spoke of political ramifications and recommended Blanco not allow Bush the glory. When the light bulb went on for Blanco it was too late. The levees breeched and she knew she guaranteed 10,000 citizens (democrat voters to Blanco and Hillary) were to die. DAMAGE CONTROL MODE FOR HILLARY AND BLANCO. Enter Mr. Witt the next day. Now who do you think recommended Witt to Blanco? Why Witt?

Mr. Witt is there to control the mouth of Blanco and make certain Hillarys roll in this mess never sees the light of day.Mr Witt is there to review all documents and expunge anything from the printed record involving Ms.Clinton.

I know this is a little conspiratorial, but it is in character with what we have learned about Hillary over the past 15 years. We shall see.

And don't forget that the Dems were the ones who demanded that FEMA become part of DHS, then fought the Bill because they didn't want the President to have control or hiring and firing, a real important aspect of Homeland Security you know.

At the suggestion of writer Michelle Malkin last Friday, I have cobbled together a blogsite called Texas Clearinghouse for Katrina Aid to serve as a clearinghouse for refugee efforts in Texas.

Texas is getting more refugees than any other state -- that's fine, we'll take them all -- but we need help providing them with food, clothing, and shelter.

If you are a refugee, you can information that will help you find relief. If you want to donate or volunteer, you can find someone who needs you.

Right now the site mostly covers Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio but I will add various churches, schools, and other charities in Ft. Worth and Lubbock tonight. My wife spent yesterday at Reunion Arena in Dallas handing out care packages and otherwise ministering to the refugees as a representative of her employer.

There are a lot of churches and other organizations in Texas that need help in dealing with the problem and I would greatly appreciate it if you would get the word out.
