"OK...Ever take any benefit funded by tax dollars from the military or VA????"

No.

Pale...

I wont pursue it further but I have yet to meet anyone, elite to unwashed masses, that have not benefited from tax dollars. Not one.

I see you've moved the argument from "lazy, shiftless bums living from government handout to government handout" to anyone receiving ANY benefit (direct benefits only--i.e., subsidies--or are you now counting indirect benefits such as law and order?).

In other words, you seem to believe that my comment hit a wee bit to close for your liking, and you're now trying to lump EVERYONE into the category of "lazy, shiftless bums living from government handout to government handout."

Pale...Shifting nothing...

Perhaps you find yourself in an untenable position. Anytime you receive tax dollars for your personal benefit, that is a handout. Someone had to work to pay those dollars. The shiftless bum at the bottom for instance takes his via a welfare check or whatever. The stand alone guy sends his kids to college and takes his indirectly via the taxpayers paying for part of their education.

Mind you now, both come out of the same tax drawer.

I benefited from World War II and so has everyone I know, but it doesn't mean I'll support every future war. Likewise, I didn't benefit personally from the Spanish American war, which again tells you nothing about how I'd feel about a future war.

"Perhaps you find yourself in an untenable position."

No, that's not me--that's you. The only folks I've ever met who immediately denigrate those who preach self-reliance and self-improvement are lazy, shiftless bums living from government handout to government handout. Thrift and industriousness are anathema to those folks. When I see someone adopting that rhetoric, I conclude that they are lazy, shiftless bums living from government handout to government handout.

Leaving aside the usual open borders imbeciles, a society awash in cheap labor will find not only its standard of living corroding but its morals.

Cheap labor means cheap flesh. It isn't just because of the proximity of film industry professionals that Chatsworth is Porn City USA. It is the proximity of all those young girls who will do anything for a couple of thousand. And more and more every day.

Illegal Immigration has the same incentive patterns as slavery.

"National legislation, and its enforcement, must overrule the short-sighted inclinations of business. "

No thank you, I'll trust private businesses to decide what's best for them, not the government.

Just more big government socialist labor union protectionism.

Illegal immigration is no bargain to America, no matter what the OBL tries to force-feed us.

There's NOTHING good about the importation of poverty, disease, ignorance and dependence.

Everyone should contact their legislators and nag, nag, nag, and let them know that there will be no more votes for open borders/globalist politicians!

"The one exception was the pre-Civil War South, which used slave labor. The slave-owners prospered on their plantations, but the South as a whole stagnated. To defend their reactionary system, their political leaders even tried to undermine the policies that promoted the much more productive development of Northern industry and Midwest agriculture. The Civil War was as much a contest of economic systems as soldiers, and the Confederacy lost that audit in decisive fashion."

The "The Great Conspiracy, Its Origin and History" written by John Logan in 1886 has very good background on this:

You need to get with Once-ler, he was wanting to get together a ping list, I don't know where Bayourod and Dane stand on the free trade issue.

The great success story of the United States is that it raised the working class into the middle class, the real path to higher standards of living for the population as a whole. But there are those in the business community who seem to think the American achievement has been overdone. In their view, we need more poverty, not less. Open borders and a new "guest workers" program to legalize millions of illegal aliens is what groups like the Chamber of Commerce desire, in effect creating a proletariat.

Bump!
