Shep showed a dead body along the freeway. How low can you go to grandstand? Things are bad in N.O., but he didn't have to show it.

Brit doesn't usually suffer fools, isn't he in a position to replace him?

What is all the fuss about showing a single dead body on TV for a few secs?

In the case of the World Trade Center on 9-11, it might cause people to think badly of Muslims. ;^P

Just to play devil's advocate - do you agree that coffins of soldiers should be aired, to show the reality of the situation in Iraq/Afghanistan?

Yes, speaking for myself, I do. And not because of any political motive, but because a soldier coming home in that manner is part of the fabric of our country.

I agree with you....this is absolutely horrific....there appears to have been absolutely no plan in effect for a disaster.....

When the mandatory evacs were put into place...the prisoners were not evacuated....many were released into the general population..........HOW'S THAT FOR PLANNING????

Maybe the initial poster thinks that Reality on TV should be limited to shows like Survivor or the other "reality" shows.

Maybe he/she thinks that stuff IS reality.

Disasters are nasty business. People die during them. Bodies lie in the street because there's no place for them to go.

But, heaven forfend that the poster should have to SEE them. I guess his TV has no off switch.

I was sick of him long ago, but between yesterday & today, he's gone to new lows. What is he even doin on the air? I've never found him to be one of the better anchors or whatever they're called.

If we are to be honest we must admit that we don't know the scope of what is going on or any of the details. We do know that tens of thousands of civilian and military have been mobilized. We also know that the "preservation of human life" is the POTUS' first priority, everything else is second. I take the man at his word as always.

He's always reminded me of the William Atherton reporter character from Die Hard.

YES!! You nailed it.

The feds could be doing a lot more then they are.

If the Feds do much more, the posse comitatus crowd will start screaming the Feds are overstepping their duties...

There are few fox personalities I actually like to watch. The rest can be replaced by a bodyless voice.

Gretta is another one I would like to see go.

"Shep makes me sick sometimes. Anyone else?"

I agree totally. For some reason I just find it hard to take him serious sometimes. It's as if someone decided to make a game show host a major TV news anchor.

I saw that too, when the police officer wouldn't talk to him. It exasperated Shep( as it should have) and I liked that he was persistent. I thought he did an excellent job reporting from the field. It was the officer who came across as a jerk.

There are times when I can't stand him - this is not one of them.

Shep is from Mississippi so he may have some honest emotions coming through...and he did that dead person no disrespect at all!! I have no problems with Sheps reporting the past few days...give the guy a break and go down there and take over for him if you think you can do a better job!

So? Nice to see that they can ignore immigration law but not ignore laws that would help us.

Perhaps those in DC should setup a PAC and donate more to those in DC.

I don't see any connection between the coffin situation and what is happening in New Orleans. A comparable situation would be if the corpses of troops were being left on the ground in Iraq.
