You nailed it.
2008 Pesidential Prophesy?????
I meant to include the Officers and Senior Enlisted in her command who failed to provide the leadership and responsibility of their positions in the "reduce and drum out", but got ahead of myself a bit. Im sure there must have been at least one or two in each category who attempted to correct, or at least alert outside authority, but have seen no information of that.
"Janis Karpinski"
What a disgrace she is. In the Clinton years of promoting women within the military just to be PC .. this is what we got - a "dysfunctional" leader who could not lead.
I really resent the fact she can make money on her disgusting behavior.
I agree. Then she turns around and says she got a raw deal? I would say anything less than prison is too good of a deal for her.
I wonder what kind of political pressure kept her superiors from taking action? Perhaps they thought putting her in command of a prision was a safe place to park her sorry butt and not get any of her troops killed. Tragically, that was a wrong answer. Just goes to show the damage that occurs from social promotions and running the military like a jobs program.
Her senior enlisted and staff officers should be pulling duty in Alaska, Greenland, or a supply depot in the Sahara ... after an appropriate stretch at Levenworth.
I still say she's proof that Colonel Klink had kids.
Totally agree, along with the battalion and company commanders, platoon leaders, CSMs, 1SGs and PSGs charged with the Abu Ghraib mission. The 15-6 report clearly shows a pattern of abject command and leadership failure. Her excuse that these elements of her command were "chopped" to another MI Brigade doesn't wash either. She and her subordinate "leaders" ineffectual and negligent style of command and control bely the politically correct promotion system infecting our military, and is especially evident in the Reserve Component in this case.
Yet, I suspect we have yet to hear the last of her. She will, no doubt, make the speaking engagement and talk show circuit hawking her book and will probably be hired as a CNN consultant in betweeen celebrity attendance at MoveOn.org protest events.
Apalling. I wonder who was responsible?
She screws up, gets demoted, and now writes a book to tell how it was all everyone else's fault.
Welcome to modern America.
She's not the 1st to do this, and I suspect she won't be the last. The thing is these kind of book end up on the remainder rack in a very short time.
