The demographics of radical Islam (interesting opinion on the future of Europe)
Asia Times ^ | 8-23-2005 | Spengler

By no means does that imply that all of these 25 million will become suicide bombers, but a great many of them are likely to emigrate to Europe, including Eastern Europe, where populations are stagnant and about to decline. A Muslim takeover of Western Europe surely is a possible outcome.

I found it brow-raising in the least to note the projected falloff in population growth of world regions, and the factors for its decline.

A Muslim takeover of Western Europe surely is a possible outcome.

And the European's takeover of the Middle East surely is a possible outcome as well. sarcasm//

"A Muslim takeover of Western Europe surely is a possible outcome."

Would somebody please alert the Guardian and the NYT of this little possibility.

Literacy and population decline may not be the only limiting factors. Check out Michael Barone's great analysis:

that line there is worth the price of admission, 'per se' (pardon my french)

Much thanks.

Still, the discussion found at the link does answer the question . . . sort of.

Jumping right out of the box:

In any event, with Spengler's assertion that "in a hundred years, French and German will only be spoken in Hell", I'm going to place a $.01 bet that Spengler is either the author Trevanian or a fan of Trevanian's.

There's 17 pages of that stuff.  LOL.

The things I miss . . .

"Because of mass migration to Western Europe, the worst of the war might be fought on European soil."

The more the Europeans struggle to excape the horrors of the past, the more inexorably they plunge headlong into their repetition.

It's fate.

It's just like Oedipus and Jocasta. And the reasons that they cannot escape their fate is the same: hubris and denial.

European history began with this epic tragedy, a tale of hubris, denial, fate, and the most horrifying nightmare's manifestation.

It looks like European history's going to end the same way.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world, like a Greek chorus, shouts warnings to deaf European ears.

Well, I know 100s of foxy european women who have said no to me, so it is possible. In good news, I do know how to say 'no' in 28 different languages! :-)
