"...So it's my clear belief that the wall itself developed this culture which restrained in a substantial way the exchange of information in the intelligence and law enforcement communities.

The Bellows report, which was part of some recommendations following the Wen Ho Lee case, indicated that it was part of the culture at the FBI that if one made a mistake and shared information that was later deemed to be inappropriate, it was called a career- ender, so that the risk of a person sharing information improperly was at least known in the culture of the law enforcement community to be a very substantial risk and that individuals should shy away from sharing..."

We'll never sleep tonight, Old Friend. I think I need a glass of wine and a good book :-)

Oh, dear. You must have been relieved when they caught that couple.

As for tonight...we absolutely have got to stop reading this crap or we'll never get to sleep.

I for one am walking away from the computer and going to read a book and sit on the veranda for a while. We'll catch up on pings and news tomorrow. (Like Scarlett - there's always tomorrow).

Our lives depend upon all of us being as vigilant as possible.

And knowing that FR is a place where like minded people are keeping watch.

>If the wall resulted from a mere memorandum, it seems like
another memo, or more forcefully, an Executive Order, could
have negated it.<

Possibly. However, by going through the Legislative branch of government, Bush alerted Congress to the importance of getting our intelligence capabilities back on line. Had Bush used an Executive order, could the Democrats not have used it as a very large weapon against the President's goals to protect the nation?

I think it was Bruce Lindsay who Clinton took in with him.

And I seem to recall that Clinton was not under oath as he was 'testifying.' So really, it was just a chat among friends anyway.

The left knows that it will be protected by the MSM.

NYSlimes editorialized on the NARAL ad and referred to it as 'cheesy'.

That ad was SLANDER!
