Michael Schiavo Asks Court for Lawsuit Against Terri's Former Caregivers (Schiavo Alert!)
LifeNews ^ | 10 Aug 2005 | Steven Erfelt

Posted on 08/11/2005 6:36:42 AM PDT by JRios1968

Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Terri Schiavo's estranged husband Michael plans to file a lawsuit against her former caretakers. Michael asked a local court on Tuesday to waive the two year statute of limitations against such a lawsuit. Mark Perenich, Michael's new attorney, who replaces euthanasia advocate George Felos, told the Tampa Bay Tribune newspaper he could not comment on the proposed lawsuit.

Under Florida law, legal action must be taken within two years of the alleged mistreatment unless an extension is granted.

Michael could be hoping to go after Florida Governor Jeb Bush or the Florida legislature, which passed Terri's Law in October 2003 authorizing Bush to ask doctors not to starve Terri to death.

As Glenn Beck would say, get the Duct Tape before you read this. One thing is for certain, either Michael Schiavo has the biggest set of you-know-whats this side of the Universe, or he is a master of sick irony.

Guess he's running out of money from his other fraudulent lawsuit.

No surprise. All you had to do was consider what else Schiavo could do to wring money from his dead wife, and lawsuit immediately came up on the radar screen.

How anyone in their right mind could not realize that all this man has been after all this time was money. He never cared about Terri, he wanted her dead so he could get money. And now he wants to sue people for her care even though he wanted her dead and killed her.

Odds are the statutory time limit will not be waived. This depraved suspected killer continues to throw up shenanigans to cast suspicions away from the fact that he is, in all likelihood, Terri's attacker.

I thought it was the Constitutional following Tom Delay that was going to be responsible for higher medical care costs.

Could we say that this man is "grandstanding"? Or an Edwards legacy??

This man just might be in a heap of debt getting the feeding tube pulled.

There was a minority (like me) that and thought this mess had gone on too long, with people on both sides exploiting her for their own agenda, but I don’t remember a single “defender” of Michael Schiavo or a single nice word said about him.

Wondered when this POS was going to rear his ugly head again. Always figured he wasn't finished. He didn't dump Felos, Felos just couldn't get any more money out of him. Also Mikey isn't the center of attention anymore---already had his fifteen minutes of fame and it's eating him up. Stay tuned, this monster will eventually self destruct.

Do you suppose Felos refused the case because the outcome wouldn't insure starving an innocent person to death to satisfy what appears to be his fascination with death by design?

I suspect Felos dropped him. Felos was all about getting into the limelight and furthering the euthanasia movement in the US.

He has already gotten his piece of the Terri cake.

The 10 million dollars Michael Schiavo was offered to relinquish the guardianship of his wife is a drop in the bucket to the $$$$ that will come his way in the libel suits he is expected to pursue. Once all the public allegations that were falsely made about him are compiled and the possible assets of each litigant determined, those who can be publicly identified will be sued. Those who smeared his name in print or television are liable if they can be identified. It is time for the "Michael murdered his wife" cadre to put up or pay up. They will certainly not shut up.

It's ironic that those who hate Michael Schiavo the most will end up making him a very wealthy man.

Felos is a euthanasia lawyer. Schiavo needs a malpractice lawyer now. First she had to die, now he needs to go after the money.

Right...the first of many lawsuits I expect he will file. This paticular type of lawsuit(medical mal) has a two year filing limit. Other types of lawsuits, such as libel, have a 4 year filing deadline. Gotta have those ducks lined up in proper sequence ya know..

Oh please.

Libel is very hard to prove, and methinks no jury will side with this man, who is clearly trying to profit from the death of his wife, and not for the first time.

So nice of you though to volunteer to be the one Freeper willing to defend this cad now. :)

My fondest hope is that his little consort will get out of line, his kids will become teens with all that implies, and then we'll see the fur fly. Just a guess, but don't think his "latest" will put up with a control freak.

Any one know if he's ever bothered to marry and legitimize his children?

"Those who smeared his name in print or television are liable if they can be identified."

Since there has been no recent shortage of people calling the miscreant on his behavior, he wouldn't need an extension of the statute of limitation to pursue libel. He wouldn't pursue any court action that would require him to take the stand and have his honesty challenged.

This is the same man who was kept from any interview except "softball" Larry King. And when he even screwed up on Larry King, he was kept from ALL public exposure. Here's two extracts from his Larry King interviews. In the first (2003) he refused to take a polygraph. In the second (2005) he slipped with "We didn't know what Terri wanted, but this is what we want..."

LARRY KING (October 27, 2003 ) - Michael Schiavo Interview:

CALLER: Hi Larry. I have a question for Michael... why doesn't he just take a lie detector test?

FELOS: The ultimate lie detector has gone before 20 judges who found Mr. Schiavo to be a loving, caring husband.

KING: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) you could voluntarily take one, right?

FELOS: Sure.

KING: Would you take one?

SCHIAVO: I'll refrain from that right now.

KING: OK. This ain't a court.

SCHIAVO: It's not a court.

Source: HERE

LARRY KING (March 18, 2005) - Michael Schiavo Interview:

KING: Do you understand how they feel?

M. SCHIAVO: Yes, I do. But this is not about them, it's about Terri. And I've also said that in court. We didn't know what Terri wanted, but this is what we want...

To equally flippant, I’ve had things more alive in my salad than her. But many on both sides wanted to drag her death 10 years ago out for their own agendas.

It was proven to the satisfaction of most. I don’t trust the agenda of those claiming that keeping such a near vegetable breathing for “just” 10 years is evil any more than I trust the motives of another that she be let to die at all cost.

I agree with you that both sides have an agenda..the part I don't agree with is that anything was proven to the satisfaction of anyone.
