Those raw materials will not be taxed. No item used in the production of a final end product will be taxed. No corporate taxes that can be passed on to the consumer. There is only one tax - at the cash register on new goods and services.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Corporations will be tax free. No taxes to embed into prices. Prices should drop 20-25%. Pay the 23% at the cash register and it's the same price.
If Wal-mart can sell something 20-25% less they will and the competition will follow.
1. Do state sales taxes continue? I would assume yes...Your assumption is correct but the Fairtax is "of the gross payment" so it taxes state taxes and everything else in a "gross payment".
They will also be responsible for enforcement which they already do.States enforce federal tax laws?...I didn't know that.
The still get hammered at the cash register because the 24.65 that corporations pay are built into the price of their goods and services just like it is currently. Under the Fair tax there are no more embedded costs because companies no longer are taxed.
EVERYONE - THE FAIR TAX IS A ONCE-ONLY TAX AT THE CASH REGISTER.
Think about all those illegals who don't pay taxes nowNo problem we'll just send them a "prebate" check along with everyone else.
What about all those "embedded" taxes in every product/service they purchase now?
The collecting agency is the state tax collector. They forward the money to the Federal treasury.
You must want to keep the IRS. Do you work for the IRS?
It's a chicken-and-egg problem. A lot of the NRST support wavers without tying it to the repeal of the 16th Amendment, but the Amendment won't be repealed without getting rid of the income tax.
The FairTax bill legislatively eliminates the sections of USC 26 that correspond to income, payroll, gift, and estate taxes. That's about the safest middle-ground out there between the paradoxical sides. Once the replacement tax is in place, then there is really no need for the 16th Amendment, and it should be able to be repealed accordingly.
I think we're in greater danger of having both income and sales (though the latter will probably be labeled "excise") taxes if we don't pass the FairTax. It'll probably start as a tax on internet and other out-of-state orders.
That's the point - with the flat tax nothing changes. The corps. embed taxes now that we pay and will also under the flat tax.
Under the Fair tax these embedded taxes are gone because companies are no longer taxed.
Nice try with your lies, Lewis, but as we all know (despite your repeated desperate lies), state taxes are not subject to the NRST, because "gross payment" is defined as the price of the item exclusive of taxes plus taxes imposed by the (amended) USC 26. Unless you can somehow manage to show us that state sales taxes are imposed by US Code, you are flat-out wrong.
Feel free to prsonally send them whatever you want, Lewis. The FairTax only authorizes a "prebate" for legal residents of the US.
That means we pay income tax and embedded taxes. They currently pay embedded taxes.
One must have a social security number to get the prebate.
Prices should drop 20-25%."Should"... but won't and can't.
Pay the 23% at the cash register and it's the same price.Actually it's 30% at the cash register but you knew that.
Where in the NRST bill does it provide for the total and complete elimination of the IRS and federal enforcement and investigative powers to combat evasion?
One must have a social security number to get the prebate. One must have a social security number to get a job too wouldn't you assume they already have one for the "prebate too?
because "gross payment" is defined as the price of the item exclusive of taxes plus taxesPure idiocy.
They enforce state tax laws. If they investigate a company who is not paying state tax most likely that company is not paying the federal tax.
Title III of the FairTax bill de-funds the IRS (while allowing a grace period to close out active cases by and against the IRS). Title II, Chapter 4 does create a national sales tax authority, however, the national authority is pretty much limited to resolving inter-state issues and collecting reports and receipts from the administering states.
I agree that only providing a part of a quote in order to take it out of context ("Dowding" the quote) is pure idiocy. When are you going to stop doing it? It's making you look sillier than when you try to do math.
