It's way past time for pubbies to insist on taking the "then I'll" part of deals. IOW, make the Dims go first.

An agreement to begin U.S. Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts's Senate confirmation hearing on Sept. 6 fell apart after Democrats refused to guarantee a final Senate vote by the end of that month, Republicans said.

BWAAHHAAAHAA!! Good. Maybe he'll think twice before trusting a snake again.

I thought Specter was supposed to stay in line in exchange for Bush's support against Twomey.

Nice tagline, but it's Cheney/Rice.

Interesting. Sacrificed his conscience, too?

St. Thomas More told us this is the one thing we shouldn't sacrifice.

Personally, I think Frist has always been a bit of weak sister, but in addition, he wants to run for President. He thinks this would get the support of various groups (AARP) that are in favor of embryonic stem cell research - ignoring the fact that adult and even your own personal stem cells are the way to go - and he probably didn't have much of a conscience to begin with.

I'd vote for him maybe a couple of days after Hell froze over.

If Frist made a deal for the expedited Roberts hearing he made a good deal. Why? Knowing Bush could, and probably would veto it, and showing the critics of the republican party that Bush has nothing but "Yes men" surrounding him, are wrong. It's a win win move.

Sacrificed his career, eh?

What career?

He's already at the "Peter Principle" stage.

I wish! I would dump Allen for Cheney! But only Cheney! I don't care about VP. Heck Allen/Rice works as well!

I was suggesting yesterday that Frist did this with Bush's permission.
