Late on Sat night I had the pleasure to see the 'live' report on a Pittsburgh station. A reporter confronted Rendell, our gov, with this and Fast Eddie worked hard to talk his way out of it. Even the lib leaning newscaster on the station seemed a little surprised at Baker Knoll's gaff. The family of the marine, speaking by phone, were livid! As they should be. She and Fast Eddie are disgusting. And she didn't just show up uninvited, but she was handing out business cards and talking about how the leadership in our commonwealth opposes the action in Iraq and how it's wrong. She really put her foot in it. But, the Dummies I know here will just as likely vote for her again even if they disagree with her actions. Ugh.

You'd be well advised to learn one of the policies regarding the posting of articles before sticking your foot in your mouth again.

Another policy is NO personal attacks. I think a review of your posts for the last few months by a moderator might show some hyprocrisy in your lecturing of others. Hmmmmmm?

This isn't even a gaff. It is totally uncouth. This is tasteless, rude, lacks all measure of etiquette and class. And she is stupid not to have realized that. She should be fired for this type of behavior.

That wasn't a personal attack, Einstein. Neither was pointing out numerous times in the past that you're ignorant.

What happened to your traditional crybaby notification to the moderator? I suggest you notify them again and let them know you're posting under two accounts. You still aren't very bright, regardless of your pseudonym: Saigon68 Saigon67

Don't jump threads - If you get involved in an argument in one thread, it's considered poor manners to restart the previous argument in the middle of an unrelated thread.

Don't play games - Don't represent yourself as another person, create or use another screen name to avoid a revocation of posting privileges, misrepresent the site or your role in it, and don't misattribute a contribution you've made. (Parody exceptions would apply to the latter, of course, but it should be clear what you are doing.)

hyprocrisy(sic)

Are you an independent researcher because (1) you can't spell and (2) aren't bright enough to actually hold a job?

This has been posted twice before.

Actually, no it hasn't.
26lemoncharlie's post is related to the previous threads, but it is from a different source and contains additional information.
Therefor, it is legitimate to start a new thread.
But thank-you for providing a link to the related thread. That is very helpful for those who wish to review previous commentary.

Yes, I agree. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I do think that following her appearance on Rachael Ray's Inside Dish, she used that as a springboard to launch her pro Cuba hour long special. She won't be fired, but I doubt it, and this was clearly a ploy, well done btw, to get a voice for her political views. Imagine the audicity of airing a tourism/travel show for Americans to a place Americans can't go! What nerve! Foodtv doesn't usually go political, I hope this isn't a new thing for them. What's next? Falafel with the Palis?

A place regular American tourists can't generally go, just to push an agenda. I had hoped not. It's funny, on Inside Dish, she talked about how she's a vegetarian and rarely eats meat or fish, mostly 'whole' foods, yet this didn't stop her from trying the special dishes prepared for her, scraps of which regular Cubans would have loved to have. That was, for me, another clue that her 'show' was a merely a useful tool.

I'm a Vietnam veteran, 80 percent disabled, work from home. I will be more attentive with the Spell Check feature if you will be more civil. Fair?

"Knoll has introduced Gov. Ed Rendell at public functions as 1940s gangster movie actor Edward G. Robinson, the Morning Call reports."

I like it

So what if this was posted before. I think this incident is worth seeing twice or even three times. Some people in FR are really anal about some petty things. Mind your own business and let the ops do their job.

Can you say Governor Swann? (Steelers all-pro retired Lyn Swann is rumored to be running next year as a republican and very well may oust Rendell and this political hacker!)

You failed to mention that your previous pseudonym was Saigon68.

Stop sticking your nose where it doesn't belong and stop following me around this forum like a puppy dog.

Pa. Governor Apologizes About Marine's Funeral

POSTED: 12:46 pm EDT July 25, 2005
UPDATED: 12:59 pm EDT July 25, 2005

PITTSBURGH -- Pennsylvania's governor says family members of a Marine killed in Iraq will get an apology after complaints about the lieutenant governor's actions at the Marine's funeral.

Family members said Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll handed out business cards and made a remark about the state government being against the war.

Staff Sgt. Joseph Goodrich died July 10 in Iraq. His sister-in-law said she was "amazed and disgusted" by Knoll's behavior.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Gov. Ed Rendell said the Goodrich family would get written apologies. He said he hadn't spoken with Knoll about the event.

Knoll's spokesman told The Associated Press the lieutenant governor would release a statement Monday."

ONLY decent thing Rendell has done in two and a half years in office.

THANK YOU Freepers and lurkers!
