After thinking about it overnight, I have a prediction:

It will indeed be W's legacy. But leftists will deny that it was even one of his goals even though it is stated in black and white. See, the leftists have a lot invested in this "The Key Reason we went to war was WMDs" meme.

They may try to deny it, but I don't believe it will work. It is too clear that President Bush is responsible for what is going on in Iraq. Everyone on the left has taken great pains to say they never, never would have done it. They won't be able to claim a scrap of history's acclaim for his policies.
