CAIRO, Egypt (CNN) -- The father of one of the hijackers who commandeered the first plane that crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, praised the recent terror attacks in London and said many more would follow.
Speaking to CNN producer Ayman Mohyeldin Tuesday in his apartment in the upper-middle-class Cairo suburb of Giza, Mohamed el-Amir said he would like to see more attacks like the July 7 bombings of three London subway trains and a bus that killed 52 people, plus the four bombers.
Displayed prominently in the apartment were pictures of el-Amir's son, Mohamed Atta, the man who is believed to have piloted American Airlines Flight 11 into the north tower of the World Trade Center as part of the attacks on the United States.
El-Amir said the attacks in the United States and the July 7 attacks in London were the beginning of what would be a 50-year religious war, in which there would be many more fighters like his son....
....When asked if he would allow a CNN crew to videotape another interview with him, el-Amir said he would give his permission -- for a price of $5,000.
That money, he said, would not be kept for himself, but would be donated to someone to carry out another terror attack.
El-Amir said that $5,000 was about how much it would cost to finance another attack in London.
CNN's crew refused to pay for the interview and left after el-Amir's request.
It is CNN policy not to pay people for interviews....

You are right. I am afraid that a lot of Muslims think just like Atta's father. Atta, instead of being regarded as a mass murder and scourge against civlized people everywhere, is a hero to many so called "moderate" Muslims.
This man and his entire immediate family should be executed. I have advocated that for the families of all Muslim terrorists and have been flamed BEFORE this man came out and said what has said. He just vindicated my position. The entire family in the case of Islam is almost always involved directly, or indirectly in this activity. It make take some of you a while, but you'll see it eventually.

What more do people here need to know or see? This is a war with islam. islam knows it's a war, and is fighting aggressively. Whether we want to fight back or not is not their concern. They'll happily kill us whether we defend ourselves or not.
This animal wants to see more bombings like London. islam supports and revels in killing of innocents, because in their eyes all infidels are the enemy, there are no innocents. They have different rules, we had better realize that.
I believe this old terrorist represents the rank and file muslim. That is, they reject the attempt at moderation by some of their leaders.

It's how the Russians used to deal with hijackers, (terrorists). After a hijacking, the hijacker's family would quietly disappear. For some reason, hijackers stayed away from Russian airplanes. Can you imagine?
We are dealing with an enemy with a 7th century mentality and access to modern technology. We will have to do some things that run counter to our sensiblities if we are to survive.

It is becoming abundantly clear that taking the war to them has had a significant impact, and is flushing them out of their ratholes. Unfortunately we see how many ratholes there really are. But I'd rather know that we are up against a billion rats then drift along thinking we're fighting 20,000.

Condi Rice needs to get on the horn to Mubarak and tell him that he can either continue to provide a safe haven for Atta's terrorist daddy, or he can continue to receive the billions in U.S. aid year in, year out.
