Dodd proposes education help for illegal immigrants' children

(WTNH, July 18, 2005 11:15 AM) _ Senator Christopher Dodd continues to work on a law to help children of illegal immigrants.

He wants them to have the opportunity to become citizens and get a good college education.

Dodd talked about his proposed "Dream Act" during a rally in Philadelphia Sunday, but critics of the proposal say it only rewards illegal behavior.

The proposal would only apply to children who arrived before they turned 16 and have been in the U.S. for five years.

Supporters say the law is necessary because children shouldn't be punished for their parents decision to immigrate illegally.

"Dream Act". Dodd forgot the word "American", for some reason.

My children are American Citizens, have been for generations. They would love a good college education, but I'll likely be working two jobs to get that for them. Maybe I should denounce my citizenship and come back illegally so my kids can get a good college education for free.

I'd like to help both the children of illegals, and their parents:

These children should get an education in their own language, in an evironment that appreciates their culture. And the best place for this would be their country of origin.

Nor should the American taxpayer be punished for the parents decision to immigrate illegally.

So, if you're good at Hide & Seek you'll be rewarded with OUR tax dollars?

We aborted 40 million of our own children and will now have to depend in large measure on the children of immigrants to replace them.

They are now an integral part of the future of America whether the Antis like it or not. We already have labor shortages in certain sectors and the Dept of Labor estimates that we will have a 10 million labor shortage by 2020.

The states that train and educate their immigrant children to be valuable members of the workforce will prosper while those that intentionally try to suppress their talents and abilities will only be punishing their own native children when their employers relocate to other states.

Or instead of you wearing yourself out, maybe your kids could get jobs and help pay for their own college educations.

They'll appreciate it more that way, that's for sure.

"Supporters say the law is necessary because children shouldn't be punished for their parents decision to immigrate illegally."

Not punished, merely deported back to their country of origin.

This law would give benefits to people who are here illegal that aren't available to our own citizens.

If one enters Legally, fend for yourself.
If one is a legal US citizen, fend for yourself.
If one is Illegal, here are your freebies from the
US taxpayers.

There's something very wrong with this picture.

Why should OUR children be punished because their parents are legal, tax-paying citizens who can not afford the high costs of college tuition?

No need to thank me. I know the omission was inadvertent on your part...

Let me know when you're ready to take my loyal American conservative test again.

"Dream Act"

My "Dream Act" is the prohibition of anti-American socialists like Dodd from serving in public office.

"Supporters say the law is necessary because children shouldn't be punished for their parents decision to immigrate illegally."

I say American taxpayers should not be punished by paying for schooling for illegals that our elected quislings allowed to walk across the border. I don't care if they arrived before they are 16 hours old; I don't care how long they have been in the country. I don't want to pay for their schooling. I want to pay for their deportation.

We could describe one entire political party as a party of Quislings (Dems) and all the CINOs/RINOs as that as well.

Connecticut ping!

Ray Dunaway had that moonbat Sen. Edith Prague on his WTIC radio show this morning, spouting off on what a good thing it would be for "the state" (read: taxpayers) to provide college educations for children of "hard-working" illegal immigrants (I don't think she used the word 'illegal' - can't remember).

Dunaway asked her just how many children would be using these benefits, and she couldn't even answer that. She couldn't provide any FACTS about this ridiculous idea, just that "it's the right thing to do... these children have been in the US since they were babies, we don't want them falling by the wayside... it's not their fault.. yada yada yada." (my paraphrase)

Unfrickingbelievable is right...

Thanks for the ping, Fierce Allegiance.

Please Freepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent Connecticut ping list.

Senator Christopher Dodd continues to work on a law to help children of illegal immigrants.

What ever happened to those leaders that stood up for Americans? Who's side are these people on? The side of right and wrong, legal or illegal? Are we no longer a nation of laws that can't even protect our very own borders?

Why are most all these representitives in D.C. so concerned with benefits for illegals or children of those here illegally?

This is like a genuine nightmare.

“The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles.
From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!"” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

In light of today's illegal immigration situation, ol' Emma was talkin' out her [backside].

Hey illegals: we don't want you, we don't like you, you are a pestilence trying to enter Our Country. Apply for citizenship the right way or stay out - our borders are fouled by their footprints.
