Laura Ingraham gets buzz cut, still knock-out gorgeous [vanity]

After her second round of chemo, Laura bowed to the inevitable and got a buzz cut and a wig named Wanda. It's typical that the hair loss kicks in about 2 weeks after the first treatment. I know because I had my sixth chemo yesterday.
I'm so jealous that she still is so beautiful without much hair! I'm 48 and reasonably attractive but me without hair is not something anyone would want to see, believe me :-)

iLaura is strong and courageous & so are you T. Yes we are thank you. I love her attitude! Like me, she is facing it head-on with humor, resolve and dignity. And continuing to lead a full, near-normal life. Wish I could find a friend who does he same. Everyone I have met in this same mess has sunk into pity or despair, or made it their hobby and focus.

I've been catching her show lately. This lady is funny, smart, informed and articulate. She's better than a lot of the "big guys" (Rush is still my favorite, but she's right in there). I hope she lives forever.
To: T Minus Four
No, thank you.
Your courage and determination is a gift that shines through.
Very special.

Ewwww, I found this:
Ingraham told listeners, on May 11, 2005, that her engagement to James (Jimmy) Reyes had been canceled, citing issues that came as a result of her diagnosis with breast cancer. Despite the break-up, she maintains that the two remain good friends.
That is James in the picture. Well, none of our business, but hope it works out the way it should.

BTW, love your tagline :-) I have a quote from a book about cancer where a woman says that during chemo she still has bad hair days, but now she can grab her hair and give it a good shaking!
Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to bad hair days with my own hair again. Tragically and ironically, I had just paid $350 dollars for permananent Japanese Hair straightening two months before my diagnosis and was happier with my hair then ever in my whole adult life. Good thing I'm not superstitious or paranoid.

Everyone I have met in this same mess has sunk into pity or despair, or made it their hobby and focus.
My new dentist found my malignant melanoma in a lymph node when he did his cancer check. I asked our church to pray that I would keep my joy. I trusted God for the rest.
The receptionist at the dentist's office was a lady like you. She has cancer and was going through chemo, so no hair. But every day she wore a different ball cap and always a smile. She is wonderful.
Fortunately, my melanoma had not spread, but I did not know that until a couple of operations and several CT scans later.
At my last visit to the dentist she still had the cap but was through chemo, and no detectable cancer. I was able to tell her the same.
I think one reason that some fall into the self absorbed mode is, as you will find, most people have no idea how to act around people like us, when we are going through the valley. I had less people come up to me in church when I was diagnosed with the disease than before. They mean well and have little idea what to say, plus, it is almost like they think it is catching. And once you become old news, it seems that all have forgotten you and what you are going through. They have there own troubles. It is easy to fall into self-pity and feel very alone.
So I stood up at church one evening and instructed the church that every time they met me they should say, "Poor Bill" and led them in doing just that. There was lots of laughter. That broke the dam and all returned to normal. About three or four weeks later, after one of my operations, the Pastor instructed all in the church to rise up and say, "Poor, Bill." It was great. It became a running joke.
The other thing I did was to get out more and visit others who were going through trouble. There is never a lack there.
Victory is out there. It is a hard game to play but there is every reason to have joy in the struggle.

After my son returned from Iraq (101st AB) he was diagnosed with sarcoma. He had major surgery, radiation and a year of chemo. He's kept his sense of humor, perspective and stayed focused on LIFE. His determination and ability to find humor in everything has amazed me:) I'll let him know you're doing the same!

When my Dear Daddy was going through Chemo for Lymphoma, a friend of mine saw a scab from a scratched bug bite on his forehead. She asked what happened.
He said, "Cancer scab."
Her eyes got as big as saucers! He busted out laughing. She told me that she didn't realize that people could laugh at their disease.
He kept his humor though the rest of his life. God Love him!

I always thought Laura had terrible hair. . . long, THIN hair always looks awful no matter how it's worn. She looks much better with her short do. . . it emphsized her gorgeous face.
I, too, pray for her total recovery.

I like Monica also. I move my son's bean bag chair to the left side of the TV when Coast-to-Coast is on so I can see her without having to look at Ron-Reagan-in-name-only. Then I have my thumb on the mute button and only allow sound when she is talking.
