For more than a year, Mr Chávez has insisted that the level of reserves accumulated by the world's fifth-largest oil exporter is too high, and that the money would be better used for social programmes.
Title of program: President Hugo Chávez most worthy cause.

So the looting begins...Exactly....no surprise there.

They need a Good, Strong Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force to protect them from their Government.
I seem to have read someplace "a well armed militia...

He is also hitting the US oil companies in Venezuela with huge back tax bills, similar to what Putin did to Yukos.

I really want to live under Islamopigfascist (and socialist, make no mistake about that) tyranny so that I can be told how to live my life.
To: Ilky Hucktar
Why? Why would you want to live like that?

Mr Chávez, who has been in power for more than six years, faces presidential elections at the end of next year. Not to worry, I'm sure Jimmy Carter is standing by to validate the elections immediately, just like the last ones Chavez stole. Good ole Jimmy, ugh.
Guess there's no stopping this guy. He reminds me of Mugabe. He's taking his country apart piece by piece.

This guy is seriously nutty. He's dangerous.
It's going to take decades to fix what he's doing to that country.

Yes, and I'm sure they came to a "fair agreement" as to how to split the spoils.
There was a slight hang up until Kofi made sure that Kojo was cut in with a "consulting"job!
Can someone show me the way to the nearest Vomitorium? I feel sick.

A novel approach to deficit spending, but simple-minded.
Any foreign currency will flee the country at the speed of light, immediately followed by Venezuelan's money (if they have any sense).
Chavez might as well have started the printing presses, the result will be the same.

If he dosen't get elected he will just take over the government, then he will be a dictator in fact, as well as deed.
