"That's the point of the thread, Nimrod "

Nice insult there troll.
And no, your point was that the U.S. wasn't doing ANYTHING.
And our point was that if YOU were so smart then YOU go find him.
So you claim Mr. Goss knows where Osama is.

So then have HIM go grab Osama!
THAT is the point NIMROD.

"Neville Chamberlain would have agreed with your position: "don't kill those who kill your people - let them roam free.""

Heaven knows you know more about Neville than anyone here does!

My point being that finding him is difficult under the circumstances of his ability to get protection, and the terrain in which he no doubt travels. I share your frustration, however.

But remember, it took years to find Eric Rudolph, """

Point taken. But when Porter Goss goes public saying he knows where Osama is, I have to wonder why we don't go get him. I also believe that if we'd poured massive force into Afghanistan after 9-11 --- when Osama was supposedly still there -- things might be different, but that's hindsight I know.

"All you appeasers "

I'M an 'appeaser'?
This coming from the one who last year had to slap at the military REPEATEDLY and have military types on FR stomp your butt?
This coming from the one who repeatedly blew the clarion for 'cut and run' last year?
This coming from the one who SCREAMED to have the Presidents daughters join the services, at the SAME TIME as DU was saying the SAME THING?
Thsi coming from the one who repeatedly posted gloom predictions straight from teh MSM's mopuths?
And you dare say I'm an 'appeaser'?
You're the one who has preached the message of failure and tuck tail and run!

--he's still out there, free as a jail bird.

I bet he is living the life of luxury and ease in those caves, eating gourmet meals, relaxing in the hot tubs, enjoying his millions of dollars, all while on the lamb, etc.

I haven't read the thread and don't intend to but just curious how do you propose to get on with his capture?.. you have any plans with details that maybe passed onto the Commanders?

"But when Porter Goss goes public saying he knows where Osama is"

Again, then have Mr. Goss go get him if he does indeed know where he is.
I'm willing to bet that he does not.

You are incorrect.

Saddam was not a spirutal leader, hence irrelevant.

Saddam's capture was critical to Iraqi independence. They needed to have closure after years of suffering under this dictator.

Saddam was alone and had little or no help.

Usama has loads of help and is in an area difficult to navigate.

Remember Eric Rudolph? He evaded the FBI & Nat'l Guard for years here in the United States and he didn't even leave the general vicinity of his last sighting.

We did pour massive forces into Afghanistan as soon as we could after 9/11. But if we let him escape by not bombing during Ramadan, or for some other stupid "Islam is peace" PC BS, then we were chumps and people have died for no reason. Israel always seem to know where it's enemies are hiding, and it goes after them relentlessly and with no regard for world opinion. Or at least used to. I want us to have that attitude.

Bush and the military are doing a great job of identifying high-value targets and pursuing them. It is the REGIMES that harbor terror that should be targeted. First Afghanistan, then Iraq, and then... (take your choice: Syria, Iran, N. Korea).

Pakistan. Would YOU advocating solving that country's support of terrorism by invading it and replacing its regime? I think not. It comes down to a question of carrots versus sticks, in this and every case.

I have to disagree a bit. Nailing Bin Laden would be a huge blow to the jihadis. His continued ability to elude capture heightens his "mythical" status, and lends credence to the "rightness" of his cause -- in the eyes of his followers that is.

It would send the shiver of vulnerability down the spines of the jihadis, and give us a huge propaganda victory. YES the network needs taking down, but when it's philosophical leaders and major planners are free, the network benefits enormously, both in terms of logistical support, financial support, and PR.

Osama is dead and has been.

After studying different video clips I am confident that the last video was not Osama.

Removing Saddam was the right thing to do regardless because of the many violations he committed against the resolutions that allowed him to stay in power after the first gulf war.

I also am not at all convinced that he had nothing to do with international terrorism, and am still suspicious that he may have had a part or at the very least foreknowledge of 9/11.

If Osama were dead we'd know for sure. Saddam is a scumbag and I'm glad we went after him. I think probably quite a few in the upper eschelons of the Arab world had foreknowledge of 9-11. To a large degree these Arab leaders are duplicitious, untrustworthy and love it when America takes it on the chin.

Indeed. An unfortunate situation where we have to deal with one devil we know, to get the other ones of higher priority.

Musharref is harboring terrorists?

Pakistan has removed more Al Qaeda in their country than any other.

Prove that he was. He didn't have a military

It is well document that Saddam had both chemical and biological weapons. Saddam was to to get rid of these weapons AND Saddam was supposed to prove that he did.

He didn't. He was removed.
