VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - One of the FBI's most-wanted fugitives, a suspected eco-terrorist known as Tre Arrow, was ordered extradited back to the United States on Thursday to face charges of firebombings.
Arrow, born Michael Scarpitti, is accused of participating in the 2001 firebombing of logging and cement trucks in Oregon. The FBI claims he is associated with the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), a group that has claimed responsibility for dozens of acts of destruction over the past few years.
Arrow was seeking refugee status in Canada, according to his lawyer.

"buck the status quo."
Translates nicely to "break the law".

Yep - aka "Ferret Mike." Lived near Eugene, IIRC. Knew some of the tree-sitters, too, but I don't recall he was ever in favor of any kind of violence. Always had cordial discussions with him even we differed, which was most of the time...
To: Billthedrill
Yeah, I'm not trying to suggest that he favored violence, although he did support the tree sitters and if I recall once hurt himself doing something like that.

"Scarpitti told an extradition hearing Monday June 27, 2005 he should be allowed to remain in Canada as he was being unfairly targeted by the U.S. government because he chose to buck the status quo."
That's pretty much the same argument Charlie Manson used when he was on trial for the Tate murders.

It's a good thing this scummer was dumb enough to go to canada in the west. For him it was the worst choice. It might have been different if he was at the eastern end of the country.

This loser was captured in my home town Victoria. He was caught shop lifting at a Canadian Tire store. This is how these environmentals whacks support themselves. Scum of the earth. Both our nations need to be tough on ELF and other eco terrorist organizations. Nip them in the bud.
