Almost half U.S. women do not mind if a man is losing his hair, but 99 percent are against comb-overs, a new survey has found.
Forty-eight percent of the women in the online poll for Cargo magazine say men shouldn't even worry about hair loss, while 32 recommend going with the flow and cutting all hair off. But only 1 percent suggest hiding a balding head under a cap or a comb-over.
Fifty-eight percent of the women say men look sexiest in jeans and a t-shirt, but they hate men in anything too trendy: 92 percent hated leather pants, 91 percent hated chest-hair-baring shirts and 76 percent hated pleats in pants.
About 40 percent preferred a clean-shaven man, while 31 percent prefer a man with a five o'clock shadow. Only 1 percent favored a mustache.
For summer, more than half of the woman prefer to see a man in nothing skimpier than bathing trunks and 58 percent say they'd rather not see men wearing sandals.
The survey appears in the July/August issue of Cargo on newsstands June 14.
Fag hags. :-)
I shudder to picture the women who like comb-overs.
And not just 99% of us women, but kids, animals, sane men, aliens (both space and illegal).....
I would shave my head before having a comb-over.
Apparently my wife is among the 1 percent who favor a mustache - the only reason I keep the damn' thing is to please her.
HAHAHA_______The silly dean of my medical school had a comb over. Lectures were given in a pit type lecture hall. There he was down there with all of us sitting above him looking at his bald head with a thin stripe of hair across the front. Somehow I could never look at him with a straight face.
Since baldness is an after-effect of higher testosterone in the body, biologically, bald men 'should' be preferred over their foliaged peers. Maybe this explains why there are so many bald people around.
Just my opinion. And no, I am not bald.
Gallagher once pointed to his shiney pate and said:
"If your dog looked like this, would you pet him?"
Okay, I won't post Helen's pic.
I have a virgin moustache -- I haved never shaved my upper lip. Originally I did it because it made me look older - after that I did (or I guess I didn't) because... well just because.
45 years.

You'd think that people, who can afford it, would take advantage of modern science.

I DON'T support the grant money that was acquired for this study. I do support the result.
Comb overs and hair transplants are disgusting!
To the men,
Women want men that are secure. They want chivalry; but as a support, not as a lead.
If you are sincere, chivalrous and supportive; than you are handsome!
You are men. You all look alike. It was the gay designers concept that created a 'handsome man'. The women weren't consulted.
Their revulsion at ANY back hair at all knows no bounds, however.
Did you write this article? I can't believe you had a graphic ready for this!
Men who loose hair in front are "sexy".
Men who loose hair in the back are "thinkers".
Men who loose hair in both places just "think they are sexy".
(8-}
It just happens.
One of the most memorable TV moments I have ever seen was watching Burt Reynolds (LIVE) shave off half his moustache on Johnny Carson/Tonight Show!
Premature Kojakulation.
That's impressive - my moustache is closely trimmed now - I prefer a drooping or handlebar moustache myself.
Your 'favorite' sound like a bad magazine article that only my husband's patients read (hubby is a psychiatrist)
So, if I shave my mustache, I might have a chance with the other 99%?
Um. No, they don't. And thank God for it! :-)
Can't be true about the mustaches. Can't be. Where were these women, the East Coast?
These are supposed to be encouraging numbers, but how about surveying just single women? How are these numbers being inflated by married women who have forgotten they wouldn't have given their balding husbands the time of day when they were younger if they were balding then instead of now?
OH YEAH!!!
That is one of the finest faces on the planet. That chin... those cheeks... that jawline...
He doesn't need a stitch of hair.
Ping!~
Thought you'd find this amusing!~
I'm not losing my hair....
I'm gettin' more head!
I resent that remark...
No rugs, no drugs, no plugs!!
You aren't bold, are ya?
"You are men. You all look alike."
You must not be paying attention. Are you saying Kerry could pass for Bush??? Carrot Top could double for Brad Pitt??? Dee Snyder could fill in for K.D. Lang??... oops, scratch that one... ;)
Bravo freedom 44! My honey who looks strikingly like Ed Harris (but still in his 40s) looks best tanned and cue bald with a high buff. The other posting noting the higher testosterone level which causes baldness is sooooo right.
Nothing like a man who is bold enough to love the skin he's in!
This guy is just about the most gorgeous thing that ever hit this planet and he's got every "don't like" on the list;

I love hairy men.
There.
I said it.....:))
Was it all that long ago that guys like Tom Selleck and Sean Connery were considered sexy men? Now you have to look like girly-boys like Leo DiCrapio or Ben Afflack.
Note the girly boys are coiffed to the max. A real man doesn't need a lot of product on top to look hot.
I married my husband four years ago. He had been shaving his head five years prior to that. He's got a great face a fabulous head and I wouldn't want hair to obscure either.
hey! I'm not bald - Nor am I a graduate of the School of Comb overs.
So, sure - lets see what you have to say
Bald Men Ping
Oh Yeah!
You are so right about Connery. Sex Appeal in the flesh...
Wow! Me too! We should start a club.
