This man says what I have been trying to get across to everyone about drawing the line of government authority:

"Once governments are given the authority to restrict the liberty of some sane adults for what it considers their physical or moral welfare, there is no principled stopping point in terms of what governments will have the authority to prohibit. The consequence will be that virtually anything which anyone holds of most value may become prohibited to them on grounds of its being judged immoral or dangerous to them. There are practically no forms of activity in which sane adults like to engage that others are not able to find reasons to condemn as morally or physically bad for those who engage in them. This ranges from drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco, to eating certain types of food, to not taking exercise, to taking too much, engaging in dangerous sports, practising certain religions, not practising any religion, reading books on science, etc. Unless government draws the line at only prohibiting conduct that harms others against their will, no member of society can be secure in being able to do or have anything they most want and value." --David Conway

Sorry sayitaintso, I have been finding great quotes:

"The only freedom which deserves the name is that of pursuing our own good in our own way, so long as we do not attempt to deprive others of theirs, or impede their efforts to obtain it. Each is the proper guardian of his own health, whether bodily, or mental or spiritual. Mankind are greater gainers by suffering each other to live as seems good to themselves, than by compelling each to live as seems good to the rest." --John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859

I'm just old fashioned then.

"The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all." --H. L. Mencken

"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." --Daniel Webster

"The only freedom which counts is the freedom to do what some other people think to be wrong. There is no point in demanding freedom to do that which all will applaud. All the so-called liberties or rights are things which have to be asserted against others who claim that if such things are to be allowed their own rights are infringed or their own liberties threatened. This is always true, even when we speak of the freedom to worship, of the right of free speech or association, or of public assembly. If we are to allow freedoms at all there will constantly be complaints that either the liberty itself or the way in which it is exercised is being abused, and, if it is a genuine freedom, these complaints will often be justified. There is no way of having a free society in which there is not abuse . Abuse is the very hallmark of liberty." -- Former Lord Chief Justice Halisham

It's the weed advocates like you and Soros and Lewis and other left wing legalizers that pursue a policy of making America compliant and sheeplike.

An aware, non drug taking citizenry is far more likely to resist totalitarianism and actively live in a free society.

Your mission is promoted financed and managed by the Left wing anti US apparatus in this world. You are not fooling anyone outside your own miguided cabal.

It will be interesting how the SCOTUS rules on the upcoming cases. There are still several major cases they have not ruled on yet, and there is only about a week left.

I bet we will see a flurry of stunning decisions next week.

They always do this....wait until they don't have a choice but to rule on their big cases.

Historical reference shows those that allow government to keep you "safe" and "secure" become compliant. Prohibition of substances is common in the days of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, and other dictators.

An aware, non drug taking citizenry is far more likely to resist totalitarianism and actively live in a free society.

Sorry, but as nature shows, an animal without defenses is a dead one. The ability to own weapons is how one resists totalitarianism. Germany, 1935, weapons free and drug free.

You contradict yourself. Societies which prohibit free use of a persons body are by definition not free. You recommend control of peoples moral, religious, and civil abilities. There is no forked tongue on earth capable of saying that is freedom.

Your mission is promoted financed and managed by the Left wing anti US apparatus in this world. You are not fooling anyone outside your own miguided cabal.

You're on to me! George, run and tell the others the word is out.

What sad method of argument. Do you wear aluminum foil on your head? You call myself and sayitaintso (among others) liars when you call us leftist and Anti-US after we repeatedly state our want of small government as promoted by founding fathers. Having spent their whole lives under a dictator/king until coming to this land, they knew and warned about letting anyone with ruling power to get more control.

You are more like Hillary Clinton. She espoused that there was a great right wing conspiracy against her and her husband.

I'm not sure how you can manage to use the Internet. 8 billion pages and those that you have given as links are the exact sources. Don't think outside the box/cage, we wouldn't want you to hurt yourself.

Still no answer to the questions.

I take it you mean the technique of people being too shocked to react to the rulings because the first ones are still being analyzed?

Are you or have you ever been a spin doctor/public relations for a politician, organization, or company?

If not, you would be good at it. You are able to ignore direct questions and dump the same manure over and over again without stating any evidence.

Though your contradictions and baseless accusations are a sign of your ignorance of the facts surrounding the Founding Fathers and basic rights.

Much like the media's agenda of use anything to attack President Bush, you use the same method to attack those who disagree with you. Facts are not needed, just a flurry of pointless words and subject changing. That is the eleni121 version of debate.

Like I said, you would be a lousy lawyer. Facts? What facts? eleni121 does not need facts.
