I think we should have the same rules for Johnny Depp that we do for Ann Coulter. Post a picture.

the tower will be constructed far from Woody Creek Road and covered with a black drape before the service to discourage tourists. Well, I've never heard of draperies as being discouraging....

I think we should have the same rules for Johnny Depp that we do for Ann Coulter. Post a picture. I checked the Free Republic manual. I think you misinterpreted the rule. It actually calls for a picture of Monica Belucci. Sorry, rules are rules. I don't make em, I just twist them to suit my own purposes.

For some reason, the 1812 Overture keeps running through my head...

Hunter Thompson, left, and Johnny Depp at the New York premiere of the film adaptation of Thompson's book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" on May 19, 1998. Organizers of a memorial for Thompson plan to erect a 150-foot structure -- courtesy of Depp -- to shoot the gonzo journalist's ashes onto his ranch near Aspen, Colo. The Aug. 20 invitation-only service will be held six months after Thompson shot himself in his Woody Creek home. Associated Press file photo by Kathy Willens

My draperies are discouraging. That aside, are they afraid that if they opened it up to anyone, that a second Woodstock would ensue? On the other hand, can you imagine 100,000 Hunter Thompson fans in one place?

I'm not sure I understand the rules, but I think it's always a good idea, just to play safe.
