I have seen Mexico's cooperation to stop illegal immigration. Did they print a How to book to pass out to the trespassers. With that kind of cooperation it will never stop.

Didn't we just send Jack Bauer down there?

Maybe he could do something.

[[Assistant Interior Secretary Geronimo Gutierrez says militarizing the border doesn't seem to be a "very intelligent way" to handle the problem.]]

What the hell would Mexico know about being intelligent? 90% of thier filthy corrupt country is illiterate and impoverished. Thats is why that want to dump them all over here.

Whenever the Mexican government is unhappy about something the United States is doing or is planning to do, it puts a big smile on my face. Mexico is not our friend.

The United States, not to be outdone, is sending two million replacement Mexicans

Let's not be stingy. America is known for its generosity. We can send at least 12 million!

I suppose. Illegals or Illegal aliens is perfectly fine, and we've managed to frame the debate to where pretty much everybody is calling them that now. I think we're winning that point, so I wouldn't change it.

Stay away from anything with immigrant or undocumented in it.

I think that we need to conquer Mexico before the reconquer us. The hell with troops ON the border. We need troops ACROSS the border. This racist invasion will cease very qucikly.

the way to handle border security concerns today is through cooperation,

Then start cooperating and we'll move the troops ...

confidence

Why would anyone have confidence in a regime that has done NOTHING to stop illegal immigration? On the other hand, I have great confidence in our troops.

and technology.

Including the technology to catch the criminal infiltrators and detain them long enough to be hauled back to their own country.

True - America does not want to be seen as "stingy."

36,000 troops wouldn't effectively seal the border, but I do note that Mexico has militarized ITS southern border to stop illegal immigration.

We guard our borders, then their people and drug trade is far more haulted meaning maybe up to a 40% drop in their national economy.

Mexico has lots on the line for us to keep things as they are.

If they don't like it, it's GOT to be winner of an idea.

Agreed. The Mexicans are like our domestic liberals. The more sense a proposal makes, the louder they scream in opposition to it.

You are absolutely right. I have had it with Bush, the cowardly GOP and their outright refusal to protect the borders of this country. I hate to see it happen but when the next 911 happens Bush will be impeached and his legacy will be toast. The Democrats will make sure of that. (and I will probably agree with them for once)

Yes, and our military has all 3!

I live in previously reclaimed land already. We did it once, we can do it again. Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!

Mebbe you recall from that movie, 'The Day After Tomorrow' (starring that whiny chick's brother with the last name impossible to spell) even in that ecological disaster where glaciers are flitting about and continent-sized, really really cold cyclones are sucking space-air from the troposphere, and walls of water inundated New York while wolves and Polar bears wandered about eating people--in that albore `wet-dream', even the goose-stepping Hollywood screenwriter made it clear that the Mexican government demanded the US forgive outstanding debts and loans before agreeing that our brave elite survivors could camp out among their cacti until Mother Nature calmed down . .
now, with amigos like that, who needs enemas?

Just got off the phone with one of my forever Democratic buds. He is just as pissed as I am about the border. Those in Congress (the middle) had better start paying attn.. I actually think they are. Mr. Bush is either playing the "back game" or he is doing his party damage that will never be repaired. I am just short of independent. Damn it I have always stood for the Republicans. Time those at the head of the party stand for me!!!

A half mile wide Nuclear & chemical waste dumping ground on the border would solve a number of problems!
