I commented that he didn't look good and didn't seem to be recovering from his first heart surgery but I didn't realize clinton was near death. When did this happen first surgery or second?

And this was the president of the US for eight years......could this have been our tribulation years? If so, when will he go away?

When you go under general anesthesia and have your chest cracked open like a lobster and your heart opened up and sewn on you're at the threshold of death. The body is traumatized. If the operation is a success, you'll be fine, but your body is dying the whole time you're being operated on.

And the mechanism of death kicks in. Some people have experiences in these circumstances. They're under general anesthesia, so it isn't normal brain activity. People who are in stage three brain death during halting operations, with no brainwave, the blood drained out of their brain, and their brains and body at 50 degrees have these intense experiences and memories of them.

Clinton seems to be one of the 15% of people who did.
Certainly his story sounds very familiar indeed.
It's in the details and the persistence of the sharp memory, also in the change of comportment.

Sounds like all the demons that have a piece of him were gathered around to divy up the spoils.

That must have been horrifying for him. Hillary out eviled them all. I'd ask for the dark dudes back.

I hope I am not ever in that 15%. I know quite a few people who have had heart surgery and I have never heard one of them mention this. Maybe it is something you keep to yourself. clinton wouldn't, of course.

Guess you've never heard of a Perfusionist.....or a heart/lung machine.

Strange.
Most people with near death experiences don't see live people, but rather healthy looking and happy dead people.
And happiness and light, peace and love.

Sounds like he's lying again.

I think Slick Willie had a genuine near-death experience...and was on his way to the wrong place!

Guess you've never heard of a halting operation.

This is done to repair certain brain embolisms. The key is that there cannot be any bloodflow in the brain.

The heart and lungs are stopped, the body's temperature lowered to 50 degrees (to prevent decay), and the blood is drained out of the head.

The patient passes through Stage 1, 2 and 3 brain death. There is no brain activity in the cerebral cortex, and there is no activity in the brain stem either. The blood has been drained from the brain. It is at 50 degrees, room temperature, with NO brain activity at any level, for up to an hour.

Dead.

Obviously a heart-lung machine would completely defeat the purpose of the operation, which is to have no blood moving in the brain, so as to be able to repair the aneurysm before it explodes.

When the operation is concluded, the blood is pumped back in, body temperature is raised, and the heart is restarted.

About half the time, the patient comes back.

It's a very dangerous, experimental operation.

I have, of course, heard of a heart-lung machine.
But it is not relevant to the procedure to which I was referring.

The experiences of the people who have had NDE's under the circumstances of full stage three brain death, with no brainwave and no blood in their brain, are among the more interesting examples of the NDE phenomenon. They are also rather dramatic evidence that whatever the NDE is, the simple explanation that it is "the brain shutting down" does not work, at least not within our current medical understanding of consciousness resulting from brain activity.

NDE experiencers in halting operations have been able to point to specific events occurring long after Stage III brain death, and thereby provide startling veridical evidence of actual visual perception of things that, of course, they could not have seen, heard or experienced.

It is very interesting.
More interesting, the NDE's of halted patients are not materially different from other NDEs in more mundane circumstances.

To date there have been four prospective, controlled studies of NDE's undertaken over long periods (6-10 years) at different hospitals in Europe and the USA. The first published study was in the British Medical Journal THE LANCET in the Summer of 2001. You are invited to peruse this article, which is available online.

The other three prospective studies, which produced materially and statistically similar results, are unfortunately only available from medical and psychology sites for which you must pay.

I can tell by your response "Guess you've never heard of a heart-lung machine..." that you are determined to take a kick at an ignoramus. That would be an unfortunate tack to take. Instead, I refer you to The Lancet. There is more in the heavens and earth than is comprehended by your philosophy, Horatio.

I find your post interesting.

I have wondered why Clinton seems drawn to W. I have wondered if he was searching. He knows what President Bush is, and what he believes.

He must have quote the load of guilt.

I am skeptical, yet open-minded.

Having been an ignoramus a time or two...I had no intention of swinging a leg at another.

I guess I was taking the context of the thread...a CABG operation of a rapist...and concluded that you were referring to that particular operation. My mistake...Aristotle .

: )

So many suspicious deaths, so little time.

Perhaps by dividing our energies into so many scandals, he was able to avoid our achieving critical mass on any one scandal.

Not the first time that theory has been bandied about.....

Now that I think about it it might even be one of Saul Alinsky's..tactics.
