I appreciate the fact that Farrakan believes that blacks should learn to stand up and support themselves and stop thinking someone owes them something. But I hate the fact that he peppers this with racists remarks and pure evil to gain support, kinda like Hitler.

"One of these days, Farrakhan will be put behind bars for hate speech..."

We're still waiting for him to be put behind bars for being one of Malcolm X's assassins.

Riiiigggghhhht!

Russell Simmons says, "I know that your above quoted statements and the urging and pressure of the ADL for African American leaders to reconsider their support of the Millions More Movement and the 10th anniversary of the Million Man March will do nothing more than increase the polarization of relations between millions of African American and Jewish Americans. It is a sad commentary that your actions will only help to spread anti-Semitism rather than help to end it."

Which can be summed up as "We hate your guts, so shut up and like it. Otherwise we'll hate you more!"

This, of course, you find perfectly reasonable. After all, your use of quotes around 'bad blacks' pretty much gives it away in regard to your opinion of these spokesmen.

(of course, you'd wouldn't if it was directed against you... but hey, it's just the Jews, right?)

It's most interesting...I remember very clearly about ten or so years ago that Russel Simmons was accepting some award on a show (mebbe the Grammys) and he thanked about 8 or so people for his success. It sounded like the Men's Club roster at Temple B'nai Zion.

There are people like you and Foxman who make careers out of being offended. Foxman was as out of line to think he can handpick the black political leadership as he was to think he can edit the New Testamant and demand that Christians repudiate Mel Gibson.

Russell Simmons did not in the least say "We hate your guts". He said very reasonably, "We will not go back to a time when whites could impose a litmus test upon us and demand that we ostracize blacks they disapproved of." Foxman's arrogance is backfiring as badly with Blacks as it did with Christians a year ago. But then again, he has an interest in "enemies" as a raison d'etre.

Maybe you should reread Russell Simmons's quote. Here it is:

"I know that your above quoted statements and the urging and pressure of the ADL for African American leaders to reconsider their support of the Millions More Movement and the 10th anniversary of the Million Man March will do nothing more than increase the polarization of relations between millions of African American and Jewish Americans. It is a sad commentary that your actions will only help to spread anti-Semitism rather than help to end it."

---

This clearly implies that a polarization (ergo - hatred) already exists, for you cannot increase the nonexistent.

The hate is already there. It is in the minority, but Mr. Simmon's own quote clearly states that it will now grow.

Therefore, my original post boiling down Russel Simmons's quote to a simple is quite appropriate.

IE - "We hate your guts, so shut up and like it. Otherwise we'll hate you more!"
