Agreed, but the ones I'm more concerned about are the state DMV officials who have obviously decided to take this complaint seriously.
To: Irontank
Could someone please point out to these idiots that neither the Constitution nor the Amendments to the Constitution guarantee that they "shall not be offended"!

she should be required to testify at the hearing as to what rights of hers were violated by the plateWhy, her right not to be offended, of course. Forget the fact that her selfish opinion of the plate offends countless Bible-believing Christians.

I think they need to publish her name, home phone, and address Not to mention her email address and her DU screen name.
To: SheLion; Gabz; Just another Joe
Yep, the right to not be offended goes to the next logical step. What happens when the Righteous Right is prevented from carrying their Bibles in public. At that point, will they realize their "right to not be offended" has been taken to far.
(Note: My use of the term RR does not mean all Christians. It only refers to those with Fascist tendencies.)

I don't see why someone that does not believe in the Bible would be any more offended by that vanity plate than by one that said CLANCY LVR.

LOL....Which raises an interesting question: Does the right to free speech include the right to use poor grammar?
To: Irontank
21 years?
Statute of limitations?
Doctrine of Latches?
Denying this establishes anti-religion as an official state religion.
To: Kenny Bunkport
Absolutely, but it carries with it the penalty of being mocked by people like me.

I once had the letters to spell Jesus on a Scrabble rack. Nope, not allowed. Jesus is a proper noun. Against the rules of Scrabble. Put in on the back of your car instead.

CONGRESS shall make no law... Since when did the sstae of Washington become congress? The Fourteenth Amendment has been understood to apply the strictures against federal infringement on freedom to the states as well. Note that the First Amendment says Congress shall make no law rather than saying that "no law shall exist." At the time of the adoption of the First Amendment, some states had established churches. The First Amendment was crafted not to repeal those state laws. And in fact the First Amendment would have been consistent with censorship imposed within a state by its state government. The First Amendment said that that wasn't the federal government's business. Viewed that way, the First Amendment was a bulwark not of individual liberty in general but of States' Rights.
